“Excellent hotel in such an amazing location...very hard to beat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed today NEW

We were lucky to find this hotel and stayed here for a few days sightseeing. The duomo is maybe three minutes walk away, and so after dinner each evening we strolled into the square to marvel at the incredible architecture. It was also only around 15-20 minutes walk to search out places to eat in the less touristy area of the Oltrano, across the Ponte Veccio and turn right. The bus/ train station couldn't have been more than a ten minute walk, so I'd challenge anyone to find a better location. We used the terravision bus to travel each way from Pisa airport, which was very cheap and reliable. The mercato centrale was just near the station and their first floor cafes are excellent for a coffee or a snack.
The room ...122 on the first floor....boasted a hallway with large wardrobe, then a further door led to the bathroom, complete with bathrobes and slippers. A separate door then led into the bedroom, with a very clean and comfy bed which was a real "home from home" experience. No views from the window but as a result, the room was very quiet and away from any outside noise; in any case, the duomo square was a more than adequate compensation for a window view!
Breakfast was very adequate with all the usual fare....cold meats/cheeses/fruit.....croissants and pastries.....hot dishes and so on. Staff were without exception very helpful and courteous.
There was no trouble finding well priced , good value restaurants all around.
Certainly would return.

This hotel was recommended by an Italian colleague and it proved to be a good choice. The hotel is very conveniently located for the shops and many of Florence's wonderful cultural sights. It is only a short walk to Santa Maria Novella church in one direction and a five minute walk to the SMN main rail station in the other direction. Front desk staff were polite and helpful and the rooms are very well equipped and spacious, although a few more power points to charge phone and camera batteries would have been helpful. Importantly, the rooms were well sound -proofed so traffic noise was not a problem.
The elevator is small and takes an age to go up four floors. Wifi works well throughout the hotel and is free of charge. My only area of slight dissatisfaction was the breakfast which cost €22 by the time local taxes had been added and didn't represent good value in my mind. The cooked food was quite limited and the scrambled eggs were over-cooked and dry.
However, the overall hotel is well designed and constructed and it provides a great base from which to explore the wonderful sights of Florence.

Title says it all! It's about a ten minute walk along busy pavements from the station, and very close to all major 'tourist attractions' (the duomo is about three minutes walk).
Rooms are good standard and beds comfortable. Breakfast - lots of choice and plenty to eat. And free wifi.
Staff very helpful.

The hotel was a short walk from the station and near to all the major sites. A great hotel and our bedroom had a luxurious marble bathroom with complimentary robes and slippers. The reception staff members were courteous and helpful. Breakfast in the pleasant breakfast room had an enormous choice from cooked English to typical Italian. We were fortunate to get a deal out of season and managed to visit the Uffizi gallery and the Academica to wonder at Michelangelo '.s David. The surrounding roads are full of restaurants within a range of prices-something for everyone ,plus the amazing food market is just around the corner. Would certainly use this hotel again, a gem in the centre of Florence

This is a beautiful hotel which, if you're lucky, can be booked at very reasonable rates. The rooms are pleasant and well-appointed in the old-fashioned Italian style, the public areas attractive and the staff friendly and helpful. The location is right in the heart of the city, within 5 minutes' walking time of the Duomo, the Uffizi and Santa Maria Novella. If you're looking for somewhere lively with a lot of things to do, this is not the place for you; otherwise, it's hard to do better for the price in Florence.
