Hotel itself was once nice, but now is very outdated. Decor is very old and it shows in the chipped doors and wall paper. Our bed creaked when you blew on it so that also showed the rooms age. The building is also so old that the rooms don't have individual temperature controls. We were told the hotel switched to heat so we could not lower the temperature in our room. My bag has a thermostat and it read 79 degrees which of course was horrible. Tried opening the window but the streets were just too loud.

On the plus side the room was spacious and the bathroom had nice amenities. The hotel is also in a GREAT location. The girl who checked us in was extremely nice and welcoming. I did however have a horrible experience with a male staff member who basically accused me of lying about not having wifi. He even had the nerve to come up to my room to check/ played around for 10 minutes until he agreed to do something. Horrible horrible service from him, especially to an Accor member. He put such a bad taste in our mouths my boyfriend and I considered leaving.

Also we called room service twice to ask for a shaking kit and they did not bring it either time.

Long story short there are better hotels for less money and less aggravation.

Dear Guest, we appreciated all the nice comments regarding your stay at our Hotel Cerretani. However we would like to address the negative side of your stay and provide a different view regarding the use of internet. The gentleman on duty at the Front Desk came to your room immediately as you reported your connection problems. Despite the fact it was late at night, he immediately joined you in your room and tried to help you as it appeared to be something important for you (otherwise you would not have called the Front Desk at that time of the night). He tried his best and we are sorry you interpretated his will to help you as something different: basically he just wanted to help you.
We would like to thank you for your time spent reviewing your stay and hope to have the pleasure to host you again in future.

Let me start off by saying I am a travel agent and work with more than a few Accors/MGallery properties and certain expectations are implied by this group, especially one that says its 4 stars.

As you probably have already read, its the old Sofitel property next to the Duomo. really great and iconic location!

Gabriella at reception was such a sweet heart and handled our check in perfectly. After that it went downhill. Also Fabio was great as well and helped me out with a bottle for our anniversary!

Room 119 was a room out of the 70s! Although sound proofed it was aged heavily with cracks in the bathroom tiles, discolored wallpaper and NO WIFI!

Hopefully Management reads this as I'm attempting to be constructive.

You need to upgrade your routers because they don't reach the end of the hallways. Every time we would connect it would timeout on a website or not let us on at all.
Also, your male staff who worked the night shift on Wednesday and Thursday of this week needs to be trained. He continually doubted me a customer ,and travel agent that my WiFi didn't work, and proceeded to come to my room and try himself on all of our personal devices(Invasive).

After deeming we were right, and saying there were no other rooms to move to I eventually became stern and magically he found a room down the hall with a stronger signal...at midnight we were left moving all of our things we had unpacked to a diff room. Which was also out dated and damaged, but not soundproofed.

Icing on the cake: maid walked in on me at 11am Thursday when I had a do not disturb sign on the door, funny but annoying.
Also, called for a razor to be delivered but they said I'd have to come down and get it due to being understaffed. Annoying when you're in a towel about to shower.

Small avoidable things that shouldn't happen at a 4 star property.

In short, its like the Sofitel sold it because it needed renovations and decided to sell it to cerretani firenze instead.

Unfortunate, would not book again due to that staff member and the need of renovation and WiFi.

Dear Guest, we would like to thank you for your time spent reviewing our Hotel and for your feedback that, like any other comment we receive, will receive the attention of our Management. Indeed we would like to apologize for any inconvenience that occurred during your stay and, last but not least, we would like to invite you to not write and report facts about the management of our property that are not only false but totally misleading to any other reader. Negative reviews are welcomed (as mistakes can always be made by anyone) and will always be taken into consideration by our Management but a lack of honesty and knowledge, specially from someone who works in this business, could give ways to several interpretations. Kind regards.

A very nice hotel just in the middle of Florence city. We spent only a very short night at the hotel, because we had to leave early in the morning. Had some challenge with parking the car, but the hotel was very helpful.

We had booked a superior room at the hotel for one night stay. The hotel is located only a few minutes from the main train station in Florence and only a few steps away from the major sights. The location is perfect!!! Check in was a breeze and the staff was very friendly and professional. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we had to navigate 2 small stairs before we got to the room.
The room was very well appointed and the bed and bed linen was very comfortable. The TV had all the channels from Italian to Cuban!!! The bathroom had some lovely amenities and quality towels.
I thought maybe the room would have been larger being a superior but then again who spends much time in a hotel room while in Florence!!
The hotel provided afternoon tea service which looked good but we never tried it. We didn't have breakfast included in the room so could choose between the buffet (€18) or express breakfast (€7). We decided on the express breakfast which contained more food than we usually eat for breakfast. We got a large basked of fresh rolls, croissants, pastries, butter and jam. A large port with coffee, juice and water.
Internet cost €7 which was ok. I always think to charge for WiFi is outrageous but it seems to be the norm. There was a computer and printer set up in the lobby for printing boarding passes etc.
We enjoyed our stay at the Cerretani and would recommend it to everyone going to visit Florence.

This hotel does not pretend to be a 5 star hotel. It attempts to create a memorable experience, and that is what it did for us. Out of all the hotels we have stayed in Italy, the service here was by far the best. Alberto on the front desk could not have been more charming and accommodating. He gave us a choice of rooms, spent time giving copious amounts of detail about Florence, and each time we passed the lobby, he almost jumped the counter to ask how our stay was going.

The room we had was very comfortable and spacious. These rooms are more classic than modern and are practical and clean. A bonus for us was the air conditioning, which worked well. This was icing on the cake as we did not expect it after being to so many hotels where there is no air conditioning at this time of the year. We opted for a room without a view, facing a few other buildings for the peace and quiet and it worked for us.

The location of the hotel is also a bonus as you can easily walk down the street from the station with baggage, and it is pretty much in the middle of everything.

Will definitely stay here again when next in Florence and highly recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask if you can see a few rooms first. Some have views, some don't - they are all different in si...

Being part of the Accor Group one would expect a good hotel which this is it's great location convenient to the train station and the main sights in central Florence. In fact most sights are in walking range. The rooms are comfortable and baths are not the usual European squeeze. The front desk is exceptionably accommodating tours, restaurants anything great people.
The one disappointment was on our 1st morning 16/10/2013 we walked in to the breakfast restaurant at 10.00 am to be told there is no more bread except for the hard rolls as its already 10 and breakfast service ends in 30 minutes by the restaurant head this is 4 star property. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay.

Dear Value Guest, as we are glad indeed that you enjoyed all our hotel facilities and location, what has concerned us most is your unlucky experience of our breakfast. As you may have read on other previous posts, our breakfast buffet has received many positive reviews in terms of quality, quantity and selection of our offer. We believe it may have been just an occasional situation for which, however,we take full responsibility and would like to take this opportunity to apologize. We would like to thank you for your review that will give us the opportunity to have a better understanding of what happened. Kind regards

The sheets/bed were the only decent part of the room. The carpets were old & very dirty, the bathroom was very chipped & tired, wall paper & paint - grimy, air conditioning didn't work - a really bad vibe for me. The location is nice - but I couldn't get moved quick enough to a new hotel.
