Owner description: Palazzo della Signoria, better known as Palazzo Vecchio, has been the symbol of the civic power of Florence for over seven centuries. Among the works of art safeguarded in the museum: the Cortile di Michelozzo; Michelangelo’s celebrated Victory in the Salone dei Cinquecento; Donatello’s Judith in the Sala dei Gigli; the private rooms of the Medici court and among these the marvellous Cappella di Eleonora, the chapel with paintings by Agnolo Bronzino.

“Very interesting building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

It is more difficult to understand this building and its museum pieces. Therefore I recommend you take an audioguide. The system is delivered on a tablet and gives you a lot of information.

“Not your home town city hall”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

This immense building, erected around 1300 to show the importance of the city, is filled with rooms large and small containing fine works of painting and sculpture. Even the ceilings can be spectacular, as in the Sala del Giglio. You will feel the power of the citizens, and then of the Medici family who obtained the title of Grand Dukes in the 16th century, and who then remodeled many parts of the building to show their power and pride, and to suggest their piety, too.

“50 euros to enter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

Very pricey considering there's a copy of the statue of David outside. Good for those who just have to see the original for themselves.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014

Interesting, slice of History- good to see the various rooms beyond the main Hall space. Wasn't overly busy so we could look around in peace without fear of being rushed along.

“Favoritt art collection in Firenze”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

In my opinion the art at Vecchio was more interesting than the Uffizi, and not as crowded. Take a strawl through the gardens while your there
