One of my best friend's used to live on San Zanobi. Every time we were in the neighborhood she kept insisting that we try this restaurant because she used to pass it everyday. On the evening of NotteBianca in Florence, we decided to give this place a try.
As soon as we walked in the door, we were greeted by friendly faces from the cooks to the waitstaff. The atmosphere is eclectic and inviting all in one. Brightly painted walls and elegant table settings paired perfectly together. As soon as we sat down, we were offered prosecco. We decided to start with two antipasti. Between 3 people, it was perfect. We ordered the crochette di melanzane and polenta with porcini mushrooms and marsacapone. The waitress also brought over a little plate for each of us with schiacchiata made in house with a fried zucchini flower. For our dinner, we tried the Tagliatelle Magnifico, which had a cream sauce with citrus, brandy and mint. We also ordered the strozzapreti with pistacchio and pesto. Both dishes were devine.
We asked for the house wine, and I'm assuming they gave us one of the cheaper bottles, as it was 20 Euro.
All in all the experience was one to remember. I will definitely be going back to this restaurant and recommending it to everyone I know in Florence. Thank you Cucina del Garga for an unforgettable culinary experience!
