“Unforgettable”

The historic center of Florence is one of the great walking experiences you will ever have. Wandering among the old streets, stopping into churches where you might find a priceless fresco or altarpiece that is 500 years old, stopping for lunch at a nameless trattoria, and shopping like nowhere else in the world. One of my favorite cities.

“Nothing like it”

There is nothing like it anywhere else (well maybe but not many places). History, art, architecture and science whenever you turn. You'd need to live here to really see it all.

The down side? The crowds.

“I keep coming back”

Florence is a great small city to just walk the streets (those with attractions and those without). It mostly flat so hill climbs are minimal and you can cross most of it in 30 + minutes. There are street vendors if that is your thing and fine shopping if your budget allows. I will never understand why tourists buy the Terrible "art" prints that are sold nearly everywhere.

“Renaissance”

Walk like a tourist ....look up ...and admire the magnific art that only Florence can offer.This was home to the most famous genius of the renaissance and you can tell !!!

“Duomo wow!”

It is an amazing site. A can't miss. Perfect for all ages. You can take as much time as you need. Many sites, statues. You don't have to go to the top of the dome but it is a challenge worth the exersise.
