“Beautiful Romantic retreat after a days sightseeing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

We visited Florence for Valentines and the Hotel was incredible. We had a beautiful room, four poster bed with views over Florence from both windows. We visited out of season so it was too cold to use the pool or dine on the terrace, but still enjoyed wondering around the grounds. The staff could not do enough for us and had a very extensive wine list. I ordered champagne in the room as a surprise for my partner and it came with an amazing selection of meat and cheeses to enjoy. We decided to have our breakfast in our room the second morning and this i would highly recommend. On our first evening we took a restaurant recommendation from the concierge. They arranged the taxi and bookings for us and we were not disappointed. We had hired a car whist in Italy but used the taxi whilst in Florance as driving is heavily restricted and the hotel had a secure under ground car park. Overall we were very happy and would highly recommend staying here. The hotel and staff made our visit to Italy that little bit more special.

Just came back from Easter with my family in Bellosguardo. it's my second visit. it's my favourite place in Florence, really close to the city but a world apart from the crowds. the perfect place for anyone seeking to switch off. it feels like you are staying in a private home but has everything you'd expect from a four star hotel and very friendly and helpful staff. The views must surely be the best of the city. The place is full of character, very different feel to your usual international chain. No restaurant but the best trattoria in town, the Vecchia Bettola, is just down the hill. Staying there is always a treat. I'll be back.

Room Tip: room with a view over Florence

Very special place to stay in Florence. Located in a top of the hill on other side of the river. Medieval villa. Surrounded by wall, garden, terraces and fantastic view on old Florence. Very friendly like family run management.
The must to stay hotel if you are enjoying medical places and atmosphere.
Not for you if you are looking for:
- Boring standard *****+ hotels.
- walking distance to shopping streets.
- Budget place to stay

Couple of hints:
1. Ask reception for local restaurants nearby. You can find amazing Toscanian food and atmosphere.
2. Kids will be happy to play with donkeys in the garden
3. Try to sing with Coccobello parrot in the lobby! He can speak English with you!
4. Book a ticket to Uffizi gallery in advance)))
5. Don’t be lazy to catch sunrise on the Firenze from your room!

Room Tip: Try room 11. Pукаусе to stay with a 2 kids. One of the best windows veiw EVER!

Although its taken me sometime to write this review from last year. I'd just like to say that this was a staggeringly wonderful hotel, steeped in history - the setting on a hill overlooking Florence, with a swimming pool and next to olive groves. An idyllic setting, with wonderful ambience - slept like a log with the curtains open to see Florence at night and in the morning. If you're looking for a modern hotel this isn't it - but if you want to turn back the centuries then this is the place ! The Orangerie is spectacular. However, nothing#s perfect so it's not cheap, but not outrageous prices given what they're providing. Try walking through the olive groves down to Florence city centre to start your day on a high.

Some of the most memorable images of Italy were created in the movie "A Room With a View." Torre di Bellosguardo looks like that movie set. It is an otherworldly hotel in a breathtakingly beautiful location. It's not for the hyper-connected though. The Wi-Fi service is only available in the lobby. You can't wake up to CNN and the Sky Channel. The Wall Street Journal will not be hanging on your door in the a.m. But you won't care. You will be greeted by a warm and caring staff who are there 24/7 to make your visit memorable. They will accomodate your every request with their uniquely irresistible Italian charm. But above all, when you wake up in the morning and throw open the wooden shutters you will be overwhelmed by the views of the city. They are picture postcard perfect. You'll think you're living in another time altogether. This hotel is the reason we yearn to travel in Europe. And let's face it. . . the TDB experience is increasingly hard to find. Spend a day fighting your way past the hordes of tourists that swarm through Florence, and you'll thank your lucky stars that after a 5-minute taxi ride you can escape to this refuge of peace and tranquility. Save The Four Seasons for Rome or Milan. You'll want to escape to Torre di Bellosguardo to experience Florence.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with a view of the city. The views in the back of the hotel are beautiful a...

I have always thought of Torre di Bellosguardo as a secret gem, a singular place untrammeled by the casual tourist, so I am a bit reluctant to reveal the secret, but in all fairness to the hotel I must sing its praises. I first visited the villa more than 25 years ago before it became a hotel, and many years later was thrilled at the prospect of staying there as a guest. I stayed with my wife and daughter in the spring of 2007, and then more recently by myself while on a business trip during the winter of 2013. It is situated in one of the most beautiful locations on earth, offering breathtaking panoramas in every direction. It is a remarkably fresh, quiet and peaceful setting, an escape from the whine of Vespas, the grimy streets and the mosquitoes of the teeming city just down the hill. The villa is surrounded by fragrant and lush gardens, and is home to an aviary and to several charming animals which are especially appealing to children. The staff is warm, gracious and welcoming: the gentleman at the front desk came running to hold my car door and greet me by name when I arrived, and everyone I encountered was wonderfully hospitable. The breakfast room offered memorable views of Cyprus tree tops: the food was fresh and delicious; the rooms were clean and serene. This is a place I will never forget and to which I will always wish to return.

This is the ideal base for the urban and rural walker, i prefer the former! i left this great hotel and walked down to the Ponte alla Vittoria then i walked back and forward across the seven bridges including of course Ponte Vecchio. Then back through the Boboli Gardens and the Porta Romana and in to the Torre gardens through the farm gate, yes a farm in the Firenze boundary, and up through the gardens to return to the luxury of the Torre
