“An unforgettable stay at a magical place with the ultimate views of Florence.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

From the moment I pulled up to bellosguardo I was enchanted. The hotel is out of a fairytale sitting on a beautiful hill covered in cypress and olive trees overlooking all of Florence. The Hotel has been beautifully maintained to preserve the integrity of its renaissance structure but has all the amenities and comforts of a five star modern day hotel. I had an incredible time there and am looking forward to returning to Florence for another visit. It was an experience that I will never forget.

As told us a taxi driver, hotel point of view is the best one in the city! The suite was very nice, so different from international hotels. The staff is very kind and helpful.
The outside swimming pool is pleasant.
Nobody there told us that there was a new spa and pool downstairs. Anyway we didn't have time to visit it. Be ready to walk during 30 minutes to reach the hotel, coming from Ponte Vecchio, but it's worth it, we warmly recommand Torre di Bellosguardo!!

I just wanted to tell you about my and my family’s visit to Bellosguardo in August. We spent a long weekend in Bellosguardo and I was overwhelmed by the setting, the friendliness of the people and the warm atmosphere of the house and the gardens. Bellosguardo is a unique hotel. It is not like your regular hotel with its Americanised amenities. However it is extremely comfortable, the rooms are well appointed, the beds are very comfortable and of course the views are magnificent. It is a wholly relaxing atmosphere. There is a family atmosphere about the whole place and we had a thoroughly relaxing and pleasant stay and I could not recommend it more to anybody who wants something somewhat unusual but equally, extremely comfortable. One more small point which might appeal to some is the delicious linen sheets which make the beds so comfortable.

Torre di Bellosguardo is a spectacular property with a view of Florence to take your breath away and grounds to connect you to spirit and nature! The staff is warm, friendly and generous with their time, conversation and help. We were very pleased with the European Continental breakfasts and the occassional dinner which was sent in from a selected restaurant. It is evident that the oversee of the rooms and grounds are done with caring hands with effort and regard towards the guests within. The feeling of 'at home' was evoked. The atmosphere is idyllic and breathful. One is left with the deep sense of history and feeling of humbleness to have shared a space within this magnificent property. I count time until my return!

Absolutely charming hotel, full of beautiful corners and rooms and EXTREMELY friendly staff. It is definitely idiosyncratic with surprising twists and corners and doesn't have bog standard all-the-same rooms, but I think that this adds to its charm. The grounds are peaceful, beautiful and they were full of produce while we were there. There is such a wonderful atmosphere of quiet, slowing down and really appreciating the little beautiful things in life.
The staff couldn't have been more polite, or helpful, and eager to help with any questions or needs that we had. all were absolutely faultless, even helping us with our Italian. Special mention to the beautiful Ciara, who helped us numerous times, and always with a smile.
Stunning situation, mind blowing views of Florence. The setting of the pool was wonderful, and we spent many happy hours splashing around with the kids.
I do think that management are missing a trick by not providing better lounging equipment around the pool - there is a sense of underinvestment in furniture in general - and this is short sighted of them, as it really did not feel like a four star hotel swimming pool. It isn't cheap at Bellosguardo, and for those who want to spend the day at the pool, you do feel short changed when the best they can offer are old grotty cushions or towels to lay on the ground around the pool. Mosquitoes were also an issue, and again felt like more could have been done to mitigate this.
Breakfast was served on a stunning terrace, warm and breezy and we had wonderful warm service. A good selection of cereals, fruit, yogurt and pastries, and the option of warm eggs. It wasn't cheap though, and so it iss probably better to grab breakfast in town if you're headed that way anyway.
We did try walking through the olive groves down to the city, but found the path quite steep and slippery, certainly not to be done in the evening. Taxis can be summoned within minutes by reception, and so we resorted to that.
I absolutely loved the time we spent at the hotel, a magical oasis away from the bluster of the hot city pavements.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for posting your review on TripAdvisor. We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. All the staff so enjoyed making you and your family feel at home and getting the most out of your holiday. We understand your comments about furniture at the swimming pool and will definitely make significant improvements. The original idea was to try to give the impression that the pool was as much part of the garden as possible and not the classical club pool, but now we realize that that is no longer possible. Thank you for coming and we hope to welcome you back again.

This is a beautiful house in a stunning situation with the view of Florence stunning to behold. It is also ideally suited for visiting the City of Florence as it gives you a little distance from the centre while only being a 10 minute cab ride away . The rooms are extremely comfortable and well appointed and both of our views had great views of Florence itself.

The Manager and the staff were all very helpful.

My only issue with the hotel is the food which I found disappointing; breakfast is average and should be included in the rate as opposed to being an extra (expensive) charge. Similarly lunch by the pool was disappointing and only a limited choice was offered. I did not have dinner.

Overall our (family) trip was very enjoyable and I would definitely go back. This is more of a classical house than a hotel with the owner committed to reaining the integrity of the history of the property. It is unique and very special.

Room Tip: get one with a view of Florence
