“Lovely Hotel, friendly & helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Lovely large room with balcony out to the square which was really nice but noisy at night. Staff very helpful & friendly. Rooms cleaned twice a day, great service. Restaurant & breakfast really nice. Florence - beautiful.

We didn't stay here as I always stay in the same villa each time I come to Firenze but if I was looking for a hotel then this would certainly be my choice! The girls and I decided we wanted some drinks before dinner and chose the Savoy on route to our restaurant. The bar is lovely in this hotel, the wait staff very attentive and the atmosphere delightful. The reservation desk made our food reservation later as we were enjoying ourselves too much to leave! The wine list was fantastic and provided us with loads of choice....not expensive for the quality we were provided for our money. They serve lots of entres with our drinks from olives, nuts and even smoked salmon. Next time we travel we will be having dinner here as it all looked amazing....the decor and service certainly sets it appart from others in the city. Loved it.

Florence has got numerous top hotels with high international standard level.
Among those hotels, the Savoy is a great choice fo sure. Top location just on the Piazza de la Repubblica, just across of the famous Gili cafe.
The service is outstanding and be personal and friendly. Management very visible and attentive.
Rooms are very tasteful decorated in the typical Rocco Forte design.
Would definitely stay here next time again.

The hotel is on the small size, especially the lobby, but its supreme location in the heart of the city and the impeccable service did it for us. We visited Florence in the beginning of January 2013, and as a family of 4 we stayed in two interconnecting rooms on the fourth floor with balconies. One balcony was overlooking the square and the second had a great view of the Duomo, the famous Florence cathedral.

The rooms were clean, the staff very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good, and you could order extra eggs or pancakes from the kitchen, if you wanted.

Piazza della Republica (the hotel address) is the heart of Florence and everything is a short distance from it. Even the main train station is 10-15 mins walk away (and we are slow walkers as we have a 6-year-old with us), so we could profit from a day visit to Pisa which is 1 hour by train. No need for a car in Florence as distances are very short and probably is a nightmare to drive in the small streets and to find a place to park.

The hotel is also situated in the middle of all the great (and pricey) shopping streets, so if you like your shopping or at least, like me, a bit of window browsing, you have everything at your feet...!!!

I highly recommend the hotel and I would gladly go back.

Room Tip: Rooms at the upper floors (4th and 5th) have balconies.

Wonderful hotel. We especially liked the location, the front door is right on Piazza Reppublicca and this is where the action is. If you like shopping, there is no better place to start and come back to to leave your bags. There is a wonderful terras to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. The rooms are very nice, could be a bit bigget to our taste and the ones overlooking the Piazza tend to be loud as this is the busiest square in Florence or Firenze as they say here. Staff is friendly and check in was easy. There is very limited acces by car, best to leave yours outside the city and take a cab, its a nightmare to drive there anyway with all the little one way streets and pedestrian areas. And, there is no parking at the hotel so,... Not a cheap hotel and no doubt you can find better value but it is very nice and the location makes up for a lot.

Room Tip: 1/ Don't come by your own car, take a taxi. 2/ If you like to sleep with the window open, ask f...

This is a first class hotel right in the middle of the city. Staff were incredibly helpful and while it is a bit on the small side I will be back. One word of advice I arrived in a hire car from Pisa , got rid of it next morning , you don't need a car in this town. Breakfast buffet very good , rooms a little small but what else in the centre of the city. Overall top class.
