“Friendly place to stay at.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2006

First off, this hotel costs more per night than our other 4* hotels in the trip.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with the usual tiny Italian lifts, that can only fit 2 people in without moving. The hotel is on their own floor and our welcome was extremely pleasant.

Service is akin to a 4 star hotel, which almost justifies the high price. The location of the hotel is very good for those who love to walk.

Our room was a nice size and very clean (no views of anything except old and dirty rooftops). Furnishings are those you'd expect for a 2 star hotel. The bathroom was pretty dull and had an issue with hot water regulation. Be prepared for some unexpected cold splashes and some really hot ones as well.

They have a PC in the lobby which you could use, but it always seemed to be in use no matter what time of day it is. There is free WIFI as well, which works great in the day time, but after 10pm, does not work at all.

The breakfast is your typical Italian breakfast, although with less usual variety. They have a proper bread toaster on hand though, which is nice.

Overall, this is a good hotel for the first timer to Florence. The price although a bit on the high side, could be overlooked for the location and service.

As usual, we thank this guest for his/her review about our hotel.
However, we would like to make the following comments:
- it is true and unfortunate that some high star hotels sometimes practice a downprice policy - however, this often has a reflection on the standard of their services - personally, I am usually suspicios of too nice looking special offers - if the vast majority of the reviews about Hotel Casci in Tripadvisor are on the good side, there are surely some reasons;
- it is true that the Internet point in our lobby is very popular amongst our guests (it is also mentioned in some previous reviews) - that is probably due to the fact that it is available free of charge at all times in a convenient spot - at the same time, a note kindly asks users to check if there are other people waiting so that every guests is able to take advantage of the facility - also, all our porters (day and night) are instructed to help all users in case of need;
- the increasing popularity of the Internet has lead us to install a WI-FI system all over the hotel, which works FREE OF CHARGE at ALL TIMES and it definitely does not stop at 10pm - in actual fact, since we have installed it last March, it has been out of order only twice for a few hours, due to some technical problems - again all our porters are instructed to help in case of need.
I would just like to add that if guests mentioned any problems immediately on the spot, these could be solved quicker - myself and all members of my family and our staff work round the clock and put every effort in order to make every single guest enjoy his/her stay.

We stayed three nights at Hotel Casci , July 8, 9, 10, 2006. The hotel and rooms were very clean. The air conditioning worked which was a plus since it was very hot. The bathroom was large and recently remodeled.with a big bathtub/shower combination. The bedroom was on the small side but the bed was big and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was basic but very good. The location was near the Duomo and within walking distance of Florence's attractions. All in all it was an enjoyable experience. I would recommend this hotel.

We travelled to Florence with 3 children in July and stayed at the Casci Hotel. Rooms were spacious and clean. Air-conditioning made it very comfortable. Breakfast was good. The great advantage of this hotel is its location - 2 minutes from the Duomo - we walked everywhere. The other highlight is the extremely friendly and helpful staff - they gave us lots of useful tips, including where to watch the World Cup semi-final with our two football-mad boys - what an evening! Highly recommended.

My husband and I and our friends stayed at this wonderful hotel for four nights in June,2006. I had read reviews on Trip Advisor and that was all I had to go on when I made my reservations. Within 24 hours Palo (from the hotel) had emailed me a lovely note and that was just a hint of what to expect when we got there. Senora Lombardi made us feel so welcome. It is not lavishly decorated, but it is the cleanest environment you could possibly ask for. The location is incredible - right in the heart of Florence. Reservations for dinner and even taxis were immediately taken care of by the front desk. Guests have free Internet access! I will recommend this lovely hotel to all our friends who plan on traveling to Florence.

EXCELLENT location....extremely helpful staff. A/C was great (it was 95 degrees in Florence), room was very clean and quiet. Free internet usage was a plus, continental breakfast had a good variety of goodies.

If you are planning a trip to Florence I would definitely recommend that you stay at Hotel Casci. Beginning with the personal greeting from the young handsome gentleman at the desk to the very friendly departure of the lovely lady (who I have to say works day and night tirelessly), the stay at this splendid hotel could not have been better. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was newly remodeled. The air conditioning was a slice of heavenly retreat after a day of touring during the hot June weather. The hotel booked the Academia and the Ufizzi for me and that was a plus...no standing in line. I cannot say enough about the quality of the service and the quality of the establishment itself. I cannot forget to mention the wonderful breakfasts served every morning. Every one I met there seemed to feel the way I did. What a find! THANKYOU to the staff at Hotel Casci for making our stay so enjoyable. We'll be back.

We spent three nights and four days at the Hotel Casci in Florence and had a wonderful experience. We are not experienced in international travel and we were traveling with our two teenage daughters. The personal attention from the Lombardi family that runs Hotel Casci was simply the best and most genuine we have ever experienced. They were extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Their advice and assistance were first rate. The breakfast was much better than we have encountered in similar small hotels. The hotel room was remarkably spacious, perfectly clean and equipped with separate beds for each of our daughters as well as a large bed in the main living area. The hotel was centrally located and the Lombardi's were most helpful about watching our bags after we checked out so we could enjoy a few more hours in touring Florence. I cannot imagine a better hotel in Florence for a family, especially with children.
