Like the majority of reviewers, my wife and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Located about 2 blocks north of the Duomo and 5 south of David, location is convenient and safe. Room was spotlessly cleaned every day and we were lucky enough to get Room 14 (it is featured on their brochure). Room was large, with step up to large (by Italian standards) bathroom. Step up can be a challenge if you have windows completely shuttered at night (I had small flashlight).
Staff was always friendly and helfpul. Breakfast was good way to start the day. Our 4-night stay was during the 100+ heatspell and AC cooled room quickly. Fortunately, Florence is bearable in the shade and cools quickly at night.
Note for those coming from train station: We walked from train station (about a half mile), but this shortest route took us through the San Lorenzo Market, so half the journey was through crowded market over cobblestones - we took 10 euro taxi on our departure.
