“Great service and attention, and a terrific location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

I asked for a quiet room and got exactly what I asked for. Room 12 was perfect for me on my own. It is small and so might not be large enough for a couple with two or more suitcases, but it overlooked a quiet courtyard and seemed not to admit much noise either from the corridor or the public rooms in the hotel. The staff in the breakfast room and at the desk were all extremely helpful and very friendly, and always seemed prepared to do that little extra to solve a problem or answer a question. Finally, the location is terrific, within minutes of all the sites, but without being on a busy or noisy street. I will certainly book in here again.

We stayed here for three nights and found it the ideal base for a Florence visit. The hotel is situated right in the centre of things, the personnel are warm and helpful (and speak good English), our room was quiet and spacious and had some great features -- elevated space for not one, but *two* suitcases (Why don't more hotels provide that?), a bath, a magnifying mirror, a recharge station, three English-language TV news stations, hooks to hang jackets . . . -- and the breakfast was super: fibre! protein (eggs)!

A trip to Florence to me means not only art and architecture, it also means Hotel Casci. Located just a few blocks from the Duomo - the train station - San Lorenzo, the location is perfect. But there is much more offered here than the location; always a welcoming smile // clean quiet rooms, a limitless breakfast of wide variety. I do highly recommend the Hotel Casci.

We booked two rooms for us and our two grown children. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They served a wonderful breakfast each morning which included a large selection of fruit and pastries. The lady in charge of the breakfast remembered us each morning, including what we liked to drink. The location was wonderful as we were able to walk to all of the attractions. When we checked out of the hotel, one of the family members ran downstairs to say good-bye. We would definitely return to this hotel!

We stayed for 3 nights in SEP 2012 for our honeymoon. The family is very friendly and helpful. We had a very nice room with complimentary drink! Breakfast tasted fresh and many kinds of foods were there every day. Location is very convenient.Walking to everywhere. They do dry cleaning with low cost.
We would like to go back again in the future!

My family group of 10 stayed in rooms at the Hotel Casci and loved our stay. The service at the hotel is friendly and very helpful. We arrived in Florence on the day of a Europe wide transportation strike and we had some communication issues with the taxi drivers at the train station. I called the hotel and they spoke with the taxi drivers for us. Although, we ended up having to walk to the hotel because of road closures from the strike demonstrations, we really appreciated how the hotel tried to help us with the communication issues. The strike and street closures was not their fault and they did give us great directions on how to get to the hotel. It actually wasn't that far of a walk to the hotel and is an option for those who are backpacking or have very light luggage.

The location of the hotel is perfect. It's a block away from the Accademia, the Duomo/Baptistry and absolutely yummy gelato. It's also very close to the Mercarto Centrale for great shopping and restaurants. A few of us felt like going out for gelato after we returned to the hotel later in the evening, and they told us about the gelato shop one block over. Three of us, all female, walked to the shop and felt very safe.

We had 2 rooms that comfortably fit 5 in each room. We loved how they had connections on this desk for us to easily charge all of our devices and there were several plugins in the room near the beds so we could have our laptops charging and use them while being comfortable. The rooms were clean and beautiful. The bathroom had a heated floor and towel bar. Very nice and cozy.

The breakfast was delicious and filling. Lots of choices from croissants/pastries, toasts, bagels, hard boiled eggs, fruits and cereals. Also had hot chocolate, coffee and juices for drinking.

We would highly recommend the Hotel Casci for families and everyone looking for a wonderful hotel in the perfect location to see the sights of Florence.

We traveled with my wife and mother and stayed in a triple room for 2 nights. We loved Florence and found our hosts to be incredibly kind and the hotel to be a great value. The hotel is owned by a family and every single person who worked there was kind and welcoming, as well as spoke english without difficulty.

This hotel is approximately 5 blocks from the train station, one block from the Duomo, one block from the Accademia (the David), 5 blocks from the Uffizi (Birth of Venus), and in the middle of everything else. We had no trouble whatsoever walking across the entire city and only used taxi's for the trips from the train station as we had our luggage.

Our triple room was very spacious and had a seperate nook for the single bed and had a spacious bathroom. This enabled two of us to watch tv while one slept and provided extra space. This was the only room during our stay in Italy that was actually a legitamite Triple and not a double with a twin bed placed in it. The shower was located in a tub which took a little bit of effort to climb up to but we did not have any problems.

The hotel has one elevator which was working during our entire trip. The hotel itself is located on the upper floors of a building and the sign outside is just a plaque so be careful if you are walking here yourself without a taxi as you may miss it.

The hotel breakfast was a generous spread of fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, cereal, yogurt, toast, and fresh hard-boiled eggs. The espresso and cappuccino were great. We were not hungry until the mid-afternoon after our breakfasts.

The hotel lobby has a bar and a cooler for soda, water, beer, etc similiar to a mini-bar but the prices are the same as you would pay at a newsstand. This is very helpful when you want to bring a bottle of water with you for a long trip to the museums.

The front desk staff provided excellent reccomendations for lunch and dinner and we were very, very happy eatting at these restaurants.

One important note is that the hotel offers a very reasonable laundry service compared to any other hotel. It is approximately 10 Euro for a half load and 20 Euro for a full load of laundry. Many other places will charge you nearly 10 Euro to wash a shirt. We did not take advantage of this service but certainly would have if we had known in advance.

Overall we found this hotel to be an excellent value and would stay again without hesitation as well as reccomend it to anyone thinking of traveling to Florence. The two-star rating is deceiving as they offered all the ammenities of more expensive hotels and the only notable difference was a lack of fancy chandeliers and paintings.
