“the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

the cheapest priced museum we saw , under rated, a perfect mixture of statues and paintings not overdone so you can obsorb the art, and not overly crowded. Our daughter a student in Florence said it was a must see and were glad she did. our favorite by far.

“Best part of my Florentine stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Walked down the road and caught sight of one of the most stunning Florentine views I have ever had! I didn't realise the big imposing structure at the end of the road where we were staying would be the highlight of my holiday!

Sunny courtyard, 14th Century golden walls with coats of arms, you could shut your eyes and almost hear the horses and the conversations from 500 years ago! Fabulous statues, including Michelangleo's Bacchus, Gemito's Pescatore ("fisherboy"), displayed beautifully, interesting videos that captured interest on restoration techniques! We went twice in our four day visit!

“Beautiful!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

Works by Michelangelo and Donatello are incredible! Beautiful work by the great masters! (Michelangelo's David is NOT at this gallery, though...go to the Academia.)

“Try to fit this in”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

A great museum with an impressive collection of sculptures. Something not to be missed if you like sculptures. Personally, I decided that I preferred sculptures to paintings, so I enjoyed this place more than the Uffizzi. Did not have many tourists which was a pity. There are some rooms with porcelain as well. If you are in Florence armed with a Firenze card, please make sure you do not miss this place!

“Mystery of the Donatello David”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

It took several trips around the floors of this museum to find Donatello's David, and it was missed for its being unlike that of the Accademia, and being in bronze. Herein lies a worthy compliment o Renaaissance art
