This is a small museum packed with classics of sculpture. Of course, the works were awe inspiring. Our only disappointment was that photography was not allowed. Really? What harm can taking a no-flash picture do to a statue?
The courtyard and the sculptures are divine.....Only odd thing was the times they were open. Plan accordingly!
What can I say, I finally found the time to go see it.
The courtyard which overlooks is wonderful, the arcades, the statues, the atmosphere ...
And then the internal halls contain unexpected treasures.
Two rooms of arms, ceramics, wax, amber, ivory, gold, enamels and bronzes.
You have to take some time to enjoy the visit.

Priceless Masterpieces abound in this former prison and torture chamber turned museum. Check out the Donatello statue of David and compare it to Michelangelo's David over a good bottle of Tuscan wine.
The museum itself has some terrific art and sculpture in it, of course, but what I liked best was the Bargello building itself. The masonry, the arches, the windows, the columns and the stairways are so interesting. And don't miss the cool and colorful details in the ceiling vaults in the loggia around the ground floor of the courtyard. Neat stuff if you're into architecture.
