Pretty crowded, but see the rest of the museum. It's really great. The far room has lots of artists models and unfinished sculpture. Fascinating.

“David is good, but the museum is bad.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

This was kind of a disappointment. The statue of David was neat but nothing else was interesting. The statue is behind plexi-glass and you cannot take pictures. They also had a fake blonde statue of David painted flesh colors out in a court yard that looked ridiculous. Even more ridiculous was a painting of the Mona Lisa with a mustache. Was this contemporary art? I was drawing mustaches on pictures of the Mona Lisa back in 4th grade. There is an entire upstairs exhibit that I think most people don’t even know exists. The flow of the exhibits is not very good. We paid 15 Euros per person with some kind of a 4 Euro fee. A little pricey considering David is the only interesting piece. The line to get in is extremely long even if you have a scheduled entry time. The staff will let certain people cut in line. I don’t know if that’s an Italian thing but it was annoying. Security screening here resembles an airport. Overall, I would not come back here. There is a replica of the statue of David located out doors a mile or two away from here.

The David cannot be captured in photos. This was our second time to be in the presence of this masterpiece. Very moving.

“Must see - at least once.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

The statue of David, located in The Accademia dell'Arte, is a see it once kinda thing for me. It is quite an impressive piece of artwork and huge in size. I expected it to be much smaller. The detail that was carved into the stone is remarkable. The rest of the artifacts in the museum are okay. Everyone is there for "David". I think the entrance fee was around 6-8 EURO each.

NO PHOTOGRAPHY allowed while in the museum. Bummer!!!
