“Cool Tombs and History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

My husband and I are not big on touring churches, but we really enjoyed being able to see the tombs of Michelangelo and Galileo. It's hard not to be impressed with the seeing the tombs of these famous people, as well as the beautiful interior of the church itself. We liked that there were not throngs of tourists everywhere and we had the chance to look around without feeling too crowded which is the case at many attractions. I would still recommend going as early as you can to avoid potential crowds, especially those large tour groups that take over!

“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

We went to Santa Croce on advice of our tour guide, the previous day. The basilica is beautiful on the outside and on the inside it has the most incredible art work. When you think you’ve seen it all, there is another room! The surprise was the visit to the Scuola del Cuoio, where you can purchase traditional Florentine leather goods. You can also watch the craftsmen and women making items such as handbags, coasters with gold stamping, among others, all this inside the basilica.

“See it all”

Spend some time here, see the chapels, the thumbs of historic figures but do not miss the part that deals with restoration.

“Impressive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Lots of tombs, but of very important people. It makes history more real when you can visit tombs of Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci. We even saw a small sister of the statue of Liberty, very interesting.

“Short queue!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Our feet were well and truly aching and we were daunted by queues, but this was very speedy - about 10 mins on a Friday afternoon. The small garden to the rear was really delightful. Santa Croce was beautiful.
