“Luxurious and relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013

We have returned.here three times over the past few years. The staff is welcoming and extraordinarily helpful. If you can arrange a room with a view of Florence across the Arno, you will be amazed! The buffet breakfast is sumptuous. This hotel is a quiet, luxurious retreat in a busy, stimulating city.

Room Tip: Ask for room with view of the Arno and Ponte Vecchio.

Wow, what can I say about this place, it has style and service beyond my imagination or expectations. Our suite was big, comfortable and super clean. The bathroom was gorgeous. You'll feel like royalty staying here. The decor throughout is classic and understated, with tailored slipcovers, vintage wood furniture and a delightful collection of artwork which includes Picasso and Cocteau. The hotel feels a bit like you are staying at someones home. The service is topnotch, the staff was friendly and quite helpful expecially the concierge men were wonderful.

This hotel is on the south side - where the Pitti Palazzo is - the position, comfort and service were fabulous - we have stayed in many hotels in this town and this is one that I can really recommend. Just about on the Ponto Vecchio....... you can never get too much of wandering on the bridge admiring the jewellery, view and beautiful Italian style. Will for sureybe returning to that hotel - owned by the Ferragamo family and worthwhile to see the museum if possible which is on the other side of the river.

Room Tip: we managed to get an upgrade to face the river...

I just returned from a four day trip to Florence. Hotel Lungarno delivered! Wonderful room with balcony (7th floor) looking over the roofs and hills. Clean, cosy, with just enough luxury feeling, without being pretentious. The staff was friendly and helpful, the lounge great for a drink or group work.
The www-site gives a somehow different picture of the hotel, the pictures on the site look a bit generic and too posh, when in reality the hotel is much warmer and more welcoming.
Will be back.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Our criteria in choosing a hotel was that it must a boutique hotel, located near to the Ponte Vecchio, ranked at least 4 stars, good view of the river/bridge and old medieval town and ranked highly by other travelers. In all aspects - the Lungarno Hotel met our expectation.
We got a room at the 6th floor with a terrace. Wonderful room, very spacious and cosy. Loved the large bathroom too. The terrace offers beautiful view over the Arno river and the old city of Florence. Note - Lungarno hotel is located on the south side (other side) of the Ponte Vecchio, whereas most of the attractions (except for Pitti Palace) are located in the north side. Hence we could see over the river to the north side of the old town dominated by the Duomo and the Palazzo Vecchio. And if you crane you neck out from the terrace - we could get a partial view of the Ponte vecchio. [Note - you do not get a direct view of the iconic bridge from any place in the hotel but a side view. So don't not go there expecting this]. That said, its a short walk to the other side, besides that means you get the privilege of crossing the Ponte Vecchio twice a day at least :). We thought there was a rooftop bar but was told that was in the sister hotel Hotel Continental on the other side of the bridge [from here you can get the uninterrupted view of the Duoma, Palazzo Vecchio and the Ponte Vecchio]. Anyway I disgressed. On the whole we had a very pleasant stay at the Lungarno Hotel, it was conveniently located, great breakfast, nice view of the river and great and pleasant service from all the staff in the hotel. I strongly recommend this hotel.

We chose to stay @ this hotel to celebrate our special Ruby wedding anniversary. First impressions of the hotel itself is the fantastic location overlooking the Ponte Vecchio & the Arno river. There is a small outside terrace for lunch or drinks and once inside a sumptuous comfortable lounge. Checking in was quick & the porter was very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions of places to visit. Our room was large, very clean and faced the front of the hotel. Unfortunately the first night we had little sleep due to the street noise of traffic and talking!! I discovered later that evening that one of the outside door catches was not shut properly, it was a little stiff and we did manage to shut the door properly which made a huge difference to the sleep quality. The maid(s) did an exceptional job of cleaning the rooms, fresh bed linen, towels etc. At breakfast their was a large selection of good quality items and the staff were always very helpful and pleasant. The bar man was also very efficient. We were there for a special anniversary but were advised when checking out our tour operator did not inform the hotel ~ this was a disappointment and obviously I shall be taking this up with them.

We stayed at Lungarno on the first leg of our honeymoon. Amex Platinum has submitted a request for a room upgrade and when checked in we were told the room had been upgraded. I was pretty disappointed that they put us in a room above the kitchen and looking out at the dumpsters. My only other caution with Lungarno is the vibe/crowd itself. We found it to be very stuffy with kind of an elitist vibe. Great if that's your crowd- wasn't ours.
Positives of the hotel- we found the front desk staff to be really helpful with all requests(aside from room)
Location is awesome!
