“Beautiful location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

We chose to stay @ this hotel to celebrate our special Ruby wedding anniversary. First impressions of the hotel itself is the fantastic location overlooking the Ponte Vecchio & the Arno river. There is a small outside terrace for lunch or drinks and once inside a sumptuous comfortable lounge. Checking in was quick & the porter was very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions of places to visit. Our room was large, very clean and faced the front of the hotel. Unfortunately the first night we had little sleep due to the street noise of traffic and talking!! I discovered later that evening that one of the outside door catches was not shut properly, it was a little stiff and we did manage to shut the door properly which made a huge difference to the sleep quality. The maid(s) did an exceptional job of cleaning the rooms, fresh bed linen, towels etc. At breakfast their was a large selection of good quality items and the staff were always very helpful and pleasant. The bar man was also very efficient. We were there for a special anniversary but were advised when checking out our tour operator did not inform the hotel ~ this was a disappointment and obviously I shall be taking this up with them.

We stayed at Lungarno on the first leg of our honeymoon. Amex Platinum has submitted a request for a room upgrade and when checked in we were told the room had been upgraded. I was pretty disappointed that they put us in a room above the kitchen and looking out at the dumpsters. My only other caution with Lungarno is the vibe/crowd itself. We found it to be very stuffy with kind of an elitist vibe. Great if that's your crowd- wasn't ours.
Positives of the hotel- we found the front desk staff to be really helpful with all requests(aside from room)
Location is awesome!

We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Lungarno during a very busy part of the season including the Tuscan Bicycle Race. The hotel is right beside the Ponte Vecchio but it is very quiet and serene. The patio bar has a perfect view of the bridge and the Restaurant was very close to haute cuisine. The location is ideal as it is just a short walk to almost everything; 15 minutes to the Duomo. Rooms are nice and clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful and they almost all spoke very good English. We had a bit of wine with our dinner and I fear we forgot to tip our waitress as we zoomed back to our room so hopefully we will make up for it next time we stay. I wouldn't hesitate to book Lungarno again!

My wife and I stayed here in October and had a great room overlooking the Arno with a large terrace, room 654. The south side of the river was a nice respite from the crush of tourists on the north side. The lobby area is charming. The staff was extremely gracious and friendly. We both felt at home.

My husband and I traveled to Italy in September for our 25th anniversary. We stayed in Florence, at the Hotel Lungarno, for two nights. I can't say enough about the entire staff. They were gracious in every way. We chose a basic room since we were only there for two nights and didn't plan to spend much time in the hotel room, but we were upgraded to the Torre suite. It was like sleeping in a medieval tower (which it is - quite unique). The bathroom was spacious, clean, modern, with nice amenities. The downside of this suite is because of the stone walls, internet is sketchy and it's rather dark. On the plus side, it's large and the heavy walls helped muffle street noise. We didn't dine in the hotel restaurant but did order room service for breakfast, and it was delicious. We enjoyed after-dinner coffee, served with cookies, in the comfortable lounge area. The hotel is wonderfully located on the Arno river with a beautiful evening view of the Ponte Vecchio. I will definitely stay at the Hotel Lungarno on my next trip to Florence and will request a room with a balcony overlooking the river.

Room Tip: Splurge on a room overlooking the Arno river for maximum views.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Lungarno in September for his birthday. We received a double room upgrade based on my GHA membership. Our beautiful room was split over 2 levels looking directly over the Ponte Vecchio - the view and location could not have been better. The staff were wonderful during the trip and could not have been more helpful. As part of the trip (also from the GHA membership) we were treated as an award to a Sushi dinner for 2 at a sister hotel - the experience was amazing and credit goes to the hotels. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants some luxury and an ideal location in beautiful Florence.

We stayed here for 6 nights recently. This hotel on the Arno River is conviently located a block or so from the Ponte Vecchio and has a superb view of the bidge and the city in the common sitting and dining rooms. The service is polished, cordial and prompt and the immediate neighborhood offers several excellent restaurants. The only downside was our room in the back of the hotel above an often noisy side street. Although the staff offered another room higher above the street, we preferred our large, well appointed room with a double shower and balcony than a smaller room with potentially less noise. I would reccomend booking early and asking for a room on the Arno. I have stayed in Florence several times but never experienced the genuine friendliness and helpfulness of staff top to bottom at this beautiful hotel. Thomas H.

Room Tip: Book a riverside room early.
