“Florence at its best.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

The Lungarno is a charming bootique hotel. Its location is perfect, just a few feet from the Ponte Vechio and directly on the Arno River. The rooms are comfortable. Ask for one with a river view. The service is excellent. 5 Stars+

Room Tip: Chose a river view room. Its worth the price differential.

We drove from Castelnouva Berandanga to Firenze...what a nice drive. I'm glad we did it..stopped along the way in a view villages such as Panzano and Greve..had lunch at a roadside restaurant with a fireplace. Driving into Florence was a bit nutty. In order to drop off our luggage, we had to pull to the side of the very narrow Via..the downfall to this hotel was there was no bellman to grab our bags. I stayed with the car while my husband made 3 trips to unload the car. If we were older ( I always think of my mother and father in these situations) it would have been a real problem! We thought right away "oh no, wrong hotel" Once we figured out how to drive across the bridge, drop off the car and walk back to the hotel, we were very happy. This is not as easy as it sounds because sometimes the one way streets randomly change direction in Firenze...depending on the day! The hotel staff was friendly. The bartenders were attentive. The hotel bar offers comfortable chairs, couches and beautiful view of the River Arno and Ponte Vecchio. Breakfast was included and the service and selection was very good. I was charged $80 Euro cash for the front desk to purchase 2 tix for Ufizzi museum. I was caught by surprise and paid. I wasn't informed of the increased rate for this service; felt a bit ripped off. Our room was called "sight and sound" right on the river with a balcony...really awesome! No fitness center.

Room Tip: "sight and sound"

Stayed here for 4 nights while visiting our daughter. Lovely hotel! At check-in we got up-graded to a beautiful 2-level room with balcony. The decor, service and ammenities were all first class. When my hair dryer didn't work they promptly delivered a working one.

We did some last minute museum tours and the front desk were very helpful in coordinating them. We got charged double the price for the tickets but the convenience was worth it. Front desk personnel so very nice!

Breakfast buffet was nice. Even eggs which is sometime difficult to find! They gave us a discount of 21 euros/person instead of the regular 28 euros.

Only drawback fitness center was located at another property (5 minutes walk). Didn't bother going.

Would stay here in a heart-beat!

Room Tip: * A river view room is a must! If you book it ahead of time it is an extra 110 euros/night! We took...

We enjoyed our stay at the Lungarno last year immensely, and a return trip was equally delightful. This Ferragamo property has all the subtle elements of a a great, small luxury hotel without any glitz. Lorenzo the wonderful concierge, remembered us, and all the front desk staff could not have been more helpful. The public rooms are stylish, comfortable and understated, a home away from home with wifi, lovely views, delicious coffee and well made cocktails. The peaceful guest rooms are not large, but are well appointed, with views of the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and Arno. Heading to the right out of the hotel are neighborhood restaurants and a bit further down is the Santa Spiritu church and square, with relaxed outdoor dining. The location can't be beat. You can stroll easily to the Piazza Michaelangelo and the Boboli Gardens, and yet be at all the major sights on the other side of the river within a few minutes. It is quieter and more charming than its hip cousin, the Hotel Art, across river.

Room Tip: The river view rooms are a must.

We were immediately upgraded upon arrival. The staff went above and beyond to make us happy. After dinner we went to the hotel bar. We were met by Daniele and Samuel who made us feel like family. Each night we looked forward to coming "home" and finding our friends at the bar. Sam and Daniele welcomed us every night. We cannot wait to return and see our friends. We will surely return to hotel lungarno, recommend to all of our friends and reunite with Sam and Daniele again soon. Exceptional customer service! A must!!!!!

If location is your top priority, Lungarno is the place for you. A room with a view of the Ponte Vecchio is the perfect start to a stay in Florence, and the view comes without a lot of noise. However, the rooms are a little tired, the maid service can be unpredictable, and the climate control is a minor nightmare for a hotel of this calibre (and price). During the coldest spring in 100 years, we still had to sleep with our window open because the room was sweltering and the front desk told us that the air conditioning would not be switched on for another couple of months. And the bell staff are inattentive -- we had to get all of our bags from the taxi to the front door before anyone offered assistance. I'm very glad to have spent a few nights here, and the memories are special, but I would be unlikely to stay here again.

If you care about great service, security, and cleanliness in hotel, hotel Lungarno is great for this.
The employee was a joy during our check in. Not only did he recommend delicius restaurant nearby, but also bus and walking routes on a map for us, and great suggestion to visit the right museum with hours and day of opening, Lorenzo was really nice, he also put us in a family suite, which was two rooms connected, this was really nice to have for our group of 4, so that we could go into each other's rooms in the evening. When you check in you receive an username and password for all your period to surfing on internet free of charge in the room or in the wonderful picteau lounge bar drinking a really cocktail made from the barman Samuel.
If and when i return to Florence i will definitely be stay here.
