“Agreed with the 5-stare experience review”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

Absolutely fantastic! Excellent for wedding parties: we saw a marvellous Japanese couple taking pictures there:)! A piece of jewellery: it was the first time that my husband doubted that we belong to the 2 percent of well-to-do familiies in Switzerland. Superb surroundings!!! A great spa and a lukewarm swimming-pool. The room - definitely small for the price, but nice, picturesque and cosy, with a large terrace. Service: superb - everybody is helpful and polite. Many thanks for the Birthday greetings and the cake for my husband! Extra thanks for the attention and patience of the chief (should be awarded a Nobel prize, including all the staff) with our 5,4 -year old naugthty baby, and many thanks for the guests who did not complain. When our daughter decides to get married, we will definitly come to Villa Cora, because we just loved the place!!! That has been a wonderful experience!

I arrived at Villa Cora full of trepidations based upon poor reviews on tripadvisor. Poor service, hostile and dishonest stafff and tales of woe - all of which were not, for me,true. From the moment I arrived both the service and friendliness were excelent. A problem with a small room quickly resolved by moving to a better suiting room. Yes the surroundings are beautiful and like a museum but, with all the sublte luxuries that one expects from a comfortable five-star hotel. The acid test of good service is for staff to anticipate and react to problems before they happen and that is what I experienced. This is a hotel that one looks for an excuse to revisit. Excellent food, child friendly and totally relaxing.

Room Tip: The view from the front bedrooms have a spectacular view over the grounds. The upper rooms overlook...

I don't think Villa Cora is very well known in Florence as a restaurant, but I would bet that will change soon. This spectacular villa turned luxury hotel has a beautiful stand alone restaurant. It's not listed here in Trip Advisor as a restaurant - so I am reviewing under the hotel section. The beautiful dining room is in a building outside the villa, adjacent to the gardens and pool. Don't let that influence you - it's beautiful. The food is over the top awesome, reminding me of some Michelin starred restaurants I have been to - that quality of service and inventive cuisine. And that range of price as well! They kept bringing little special treats, amuse bouches, pre-this and pre-that and a fantastic selection of wine. The room was quiet the night I was there with only 7 or 8 tables of house guests - i think i was the only outside guest; but that didnt change the service, it made no difference. Take the short cab ride and check it out. You wont be sorry.

Dear Client,

Thank you very much for your nice review about our "Le Pool" Restaurant , we are very happy that you had a very nice dinner with , as you said, over the top food and that you enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere that this restaurant can offer, especially in the evening. We will share your beautiful words with all the hotel's staff but in particular, of course, with the staff of the restaurant.
We really hope that you can visit us soon to enjoy another meal at our Restaurant or that you can even stay at our Hotel as our client and sleep in one of our beautiful rooms.

Our Kindest Regards

Just returned from a 7 night stay at Villa Cora with my husband and two children. Can not think of enough superlatives to describe this wonderful hotel. Pure luxury and friendly helpful staff make this the best place to stay in Florence if you want to be completely spoiled. The decor of the Villa is simply stunning and our suite (Grace Kelly) had everything a family of four could want or need including two bathrooms. Breakfast was of the best quality and taken in the lovely surroundings of the pool side bistro and great to set you up for a day of sightseeing. We managed to use the heated outdoor pool on two occasions despite the mild weather and the staff were always on hand to bring us big soft fluffy towels, we also enjoyed the jacquzzi and steam room and showers in the spa which is handily reached by an underground walkway. We enjoyed drinks in the sumptuous bar on a couple of evenings sitting at the very funky colour changing table which somehow completely complements its surroundings despite the differences in style and also enjoyed a few games of cards in the very luxurious and comfortable cards room. The hotel is just a little outside of the centre of Florence so the complimentary hotel shuttle is another great attribute of Villa Cora and we frequently took advantage of it. The hotel went above and beyond all our expectations and should we ever return to Florence we will not hesitate to stay at Villa Cora again.

Room Tip: The duplex suites with a split level are ideal for families

My husband and I recently got married at the Villa Cora at the end of March. The staff, rooms, meal and location were absolutely perfect - and I consider myself to be quite difficult to please. From the appertifs to the gorgeous interior design - we were not disappointed. Our friends and family raved about the ceremony and after party. The Villa Cora is top notch in my opinion - an ideal wedding location and fantastic customer service. Thank you Villa Cora for making our special day so memorable!

This is a very beautiful hotel and perfect for couples. It is a pleasant 30 minute walk from the centre of town but the hotel runs a shuttle in the morning and late afternoon if you don't fancy the walk. Hotel staff are very friendly and always willing to assist where required. Our room was lovely with a big king size bed and very luxurious bathroom. We had a view from our room over Florence. Only minor complaint was the 6 euro room service charge to deliver a pizza and juice to the room but really no different to any other 5 star hotel.

Would recommend if you want a luxury stay in Florence but want to be away from the centre. Ideal as well if you have hired a car.

Room Tip: We were in room 205. Had a view over Florence.

This was such a grand hotel. Our room was so beautiful and the view from our terrace was magical.. Like being in a movie! We had a wonderful staff that were so helpful and made us so comfortable. The hotel is a former mansion in a neighborhood setting. We took evening walks thru the gardens and felt safe walking into an area for pizza or snacks. Robes and slippers and turndown service ... Just SO wonderful!

Room Tip: We had a suite and it gave us two baths that was nice. Room with a view is great .
