Owner description: Love Duets’ Concert: you do not have to be a lover of Italian Opera to enjoy this wonderful evening. It’s set in a small church from 1800’s. You have a piano, soprano & tenor performing Opera’s love song and Italian love songs. The setting and performance is overwhelmingly powerful. You’ll be moved to tears by the emotions. Not to be missed.

We went here on trip which included a 4 course meal in a nearby traditional restaurant. It was a wonderful night and the opera was amazing - truely first class.

“So dire it was hilarious !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2014 NEW

A lovely venue and a reasonable ticket price. This was a memorable evening because the soprano gave a memorable performance. Memorable because she got up and murdered a succession of popular arias, blasting away at full volume, taking a run up at every high note and mugging at the audience in an attempt to act. We struggled not to laugh out loud and wondered at one point if it was a practical joke for a 'Borat' film or hidden camera TV program. Some of the audience left during the interval, others seemed oblivious and clapped enthusiastically after every number. When she blasted into what should have been a light, lyric Rossini aria I had to restrain myself from shouting 'Don't do it!' The spirit of Florence Foster Jenkins was alive and well that night. 3 stars for comic value alone.

“Loved it”

Very intimate setting, you can almost reach out and touch the singers. Very well done, the singing brought tears to many in the audience. I would strongly recommend this event to anyone visiting Florence.

“A Lovely Evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

We attended a "Love Duets" performance on a Weds. night. It is an intimate, and lovely setting, and the staff do a very nice job of making everyone feel welcome. There are no "bad seats", everyone is seated within 15 meters of the "stage" (which is an area of the church in front of the first few rows of pews. The singers (and the accompanist) were engaging, and energetic, with the second act being particularly strong, given several very artistic "Carmen" numbers.

We emailed the organizer before the event, and seats were held for us (our name was placed right on some seats toward the very front of the stage).

We will plan on attending another performance, next time we are in Firenze.

You also have to love the glasses of prosecco you can buy for 2 Euro at the intermission and drink standing in the cool evening on the street outside St. Mark's.

“An energatic performance.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2014

Butterfly was flying from the first minut. She gave a stunning acting performance andchit me several times right in the middle of my heart. Very touching and above all; so very tender and giesha-like...
Christiano Manzoni wellwillingly distributed his energy from start till finish. Especially the last part he put down a terrific atmosphere of hope and unendless despair. Hartbreaking...
The tenor was always in tune and very easy on the high notes. I told him in the corridor however that my eardrums do have a finite elasticity.....
Maybe a tip voor all singers and the piano too:
You all did a wunderfull job but mind you: it' s a small
church and half the volume is really enough and will bring the right atmosfere too.
Opera is not only about loudness but even more about
perception of sung words.
You all have bell canto voices and fingers.... let the magnificant accoustics do the rest...
I'm very gratefull to have been amongst Puccini lovers...
