The Regency is nice, but not a 5 star. More like a low 4 star by U.S. standards. Rooms are in the main bldg and a sort of annex bldg to the side. There is considerable road noise in the side bldg so I would check where your room is. We were moved to the main bldg and it was quiet. The hotel is quite a hike from the main tourist area/duomo (about 15-20min). The hike would be nice except the sidewalks are quite narrow and you can end up competiting with the traffic (a compeition that you will loose). The service is very good. The breakfast is okay (would not buy it if not included in the package). Both rooms had very old beds.

A very quiet hotel a short walk from the major attractions. Good if you enjoy 5 star service without the noise and bustle of center city hotels. Staff were exceptionally helpful.

LOCATION: the hotel is located right on a plaza and is only a short walk to the Accademia and Uffizi Muesuems as well as lots of good restaurants.

HOTEL: it is a nice hotel(a little stuffy) bed is good and the bath has a tub in it with marble floors. Breakfast is included and its a full buffett.

PERKS: the hotel will make you reservations for you at the Accademia and Uffizi which is a plus because then you just show up and go right inside to see "The David" at the Accademia and all the artwork at the Uffizi. Also they will make reservations at great Tuscan Restaurants for you as well. very nice.

COST: I paid USD $318/night which was a little too much I think. If you can get a room here for less then USD$225 I think it is worth it. Next time I will try and find a 3 or 4 star that is less expensive.


RESTAURANTS: If you go to Florence make a reservation at the Caffe Italiano. Its awesome, they speak English and its in a old wine celler, very cool!

This is a small place where they remember you and look after you. We started our honeymoon here and loved it!

We stayed for three nights during the first week of May. Paid $220 USD per night.

The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the center of Florence. The concierge was friendly and helpful. The maid service was a bit annoying as they would try to open our door without knocking. Breakfast consisted or meats, cheeses and breads.

The room was fantastic. Extremely spacious, beautifully decorated and well-kept. Bathroom was large and very clean. AC worked well.

Overall, good experience. Would stay there again.
