“Lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2014

A beautiful hotel - lovely good sized rooms, the Wintergarden bar was an elegant and impressive room with great cocktails. Excellent, friendly service. They obviously put a lot of effort into the look and feel of the hotel, with big bunches of fresh flowers everywhere and everything very clean and tidy. Nice location.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014

Having stayed at the 4Seasons (July 2013) last summer with my husband, I decided to try the St. Regis (April 2014) to save me some money since this trip I needed two rooms as my daughter was traveling with us. I was not disappointed! I loved the location and found the front desk staff & the concierges to be so professional & helpful. Our visit was during the very busy Easter week and the hotel was fully booked - but you didn't feel it. Deciding to change a same day dinner reservation that afternoon, the concierge got us into a fully booked Alla Murate (noticed every table was taken during our meal). And, this proved to be the best meal of our stay!
My only two complaints would be 1. their bar/lite lunch snack area. The menu is limited and not close to 4Seasons quality. However their breakfast buffet did not disappoint. 2. Their health club access. You had to go to the concierge to get the key to enter and return the key afterwards. It made it a hassle to use the exercise facility. I heard other patrons complaining their room key did not provide access, so I know many guests found this to be annoying to them also.

I definitely see why reviewers have a hard time distinguishing quality. If all things being equal, 4Seasons would edge out St Regis. However, if you want the plush decadence of a wonderful hotel that will save you a few Euro - opt for the St Regis. You will definitely still feel well pampered.

Dear TravelExperience61, Allow me to thank you for recommending the St. Regis hotel to the TripAdvisor community. I'm glad that you could experience how professional is our Concierge Team following up on all our guests' request. Allow me to clarify just the point regarding our excercise room: our guests take their personal key at the Concierge, and they return back it just upon the check out, in such a way that they are free to access whenever they wish. Allow me to thank you once again for staying at The St. Regis Florence. It would be my distinct pleasure to personally welcome you back for your future holidays. All my kindest regards, Ombretta - The Lobby Butler

The hotel is located in a great spot, central to everything.....staff was perfect from check in to Concierge to breakfast room. Breakfast was perfect...great selection for American or European taste and staff in breakfast room was very attentive and professional. Obviously Great job by management team in developing a first class team at this hotel...I would definitely return.....super hotel ! By the way....the Westin hotel across the street has an incredible roof top lounge for an after dinner drink or something to eat...spectacular view....don't miss this location while at the St Regis!

This was the first time we have stayed at the St Regis Florence and it certainly wont be our last!
The check in was seamless and we were upgraded to a river view room and shown the room by one of the hotels Butlers ...... The Butler explained everything about the room and all of the services provided including complimentary tea & coffee and shoe shines etc.
The view from our room was beautiful ....overlooking the Arno river and the weir, the room itself was amazing .....frescoes on three of the walls with really high ceilings and a tv inside the bathroom mirror!
Housekeeping was second to none ....I'm pretty sure housekeeping tidied our room 3 times a day which was a great touch ...... the breakfast buffet is vast and there is an omelette chef for fresh eggs etc and the breakfast balcony is above the winter garden restaurant - really beautiful .....we are already looking at saying again in the Autumn

Room Tip: I'm pretty sure all rooms will be good

Everything and everyone....total perfection! Check in was warm and fast. Our Botticelli Suite was gorgeous! Our butler and her entire team did an outstanding job! The concierges took care of our prearranged Uffizi Gallery tickets and suggested wonderful nearby trattorias. The bartenders were also wonderful. A nightly glass of champagne and some oysters were the perfect way to begin each evening. An absolutely sensational experience!!

Room Tip: Our Botticelli Suite with a patio overlooking the Piazza and The Arno was gorgeous!

Confortable , a very nice luxurious italian palace (the ambiance and decoration are really italian : you are in Florence and nowhere else) .
The location is great you are in the center of things,it is at a very short walking distance from everywhere from Santa Maria Novella to the Ponte Vecchio the Uffizi or the Carmine!!!
The restaurant is quite good and the decor superb.
The clientele is very family friendly.
But... the prices run very high for mini-bar, laundry and all the little things...

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view on the river Arno on the 3rd or 4th floor . Do not hesitate to take your...

This hotel is beautiful!! I stayed for two nights in "San Niccolo" - a sweet room, beautifully decorated, overlooking the private garden. It was quiet and peaceful. The hotel staff were fantastic; acknowledged us on every occasion and were very courteous.

We had breakfast on the balcony of the Winter Garden and drinks in the Winter Garden in the evening. I would definitely suggest having a few glasses of wine in their; the atmosphere was delightful with a pianist in the background and amazing bartenders.

Its ideally situated on the banks of the Arno and close walking distance to everything.

Easter is a busy time so I'm not surprised check out at midday was busy but the staff addressed us promptly and Aldo took our bags.

Wonderful, beautiful, classically styled hotel which I'd definitely recommend.
