“A great, never crowded museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

This museum is full of amazing gems such as the Michelangelo pieta and Donatello masterpieces that can't be viewed anywhere else. One thing we love about this museum is that it's never crowded. You can linger and study each incredible piece without having to worry about a bunch of tour groups blocking your view.

“Right sized museum away from crowds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013 via mobile

Was actually more enjoyable than the interior of the Duomo, well worth the price. Flash photography allowed, some excellent pieces including a work by Michelangelo that you can get real close to and the original gold doors of the Batistre. Quiet spaces and not crowded at all, probably nor too many know about it. Museum is small enough so you are not overwhelmed and focused on the Duomo.

“Not as impressed as Rick Steves ;)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013 via mobile

We have been using Rick Steves' books and Trip Advisor to plan our trip and decide what sights to see... Rick Steves talks about how amazing this museum is and how it is a must see. To me it was okay (husband agreed). The only very cool thing is the sculpture by Michelangelo he intended for his grave. It is pretty awesome!

“a refreshing museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Some of the museums in Florence can be overwhelming, but the Duomo Museum isn't. It is well-organized and easy to move around in, and it contains some real treasures that many people miss. Michelangelo's last Pieta is breath-taking, and you can move around is and see how he carved the stone, which you cannot do with the Pieta in Rome. The Baptistry panels have been restored, and they are glorious. The restoration process is explained very clearly. This little museum is clearly worth the time.
