“Small rooms but superb location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I spent one night in Florence and decided upon this hotel. Our overall experience was great. The staff was very helpful directing us to the sites and even offered to hold our luggage past check out while we were out and about until our train. We were able to easily walk to and from the train station, Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and even as far as Piazza del Michelangelo. My only complaint was that our room seemed very small, but from what I have read, it may just be the European standard that I am not used to. But I think we only had 1.5 feet on each side of the bed, so that seemed small. But otherwise, very clean, great location, and great experience. Loved Florence!

Firstly, if you are still unsure about whether to go to Florence GO!! Go now!! It is the most beautiful city we have been to.

The hotel is in a brilliant location, about 10 mins from S.M Station and 20 mins from the out of town station (both walking). San Marco square and the Acedamia (David) are a 5 min walk max and the Duomo is 5-10 min walk. Such an awesome location.

The rooms are tastefully decorated, not modern but clean, comfortable and fitting for the city. Quite romantic. Our room had a shower and sink and the shared bathroom was clean and lovely. Didnt pay for the breakfast as it seemed quite expensive (7 euros) and there are plenty of cafes/shops nearby.

Wifi wasnt working (hence 4 stars not 5) but everything else was lovely.

General Florence tips..if you want a coffee, drink it at the bar, its half the price. If anyone is under 25, take your passport when you go to see David. Saves 5 euros but they need ID. It's 15 euros if you make a reservation (11 without but a longer queue). Get a Duomo pass for 10 euros, covers the bell tower, the dome, the cathedral, crypt and baptistry. Worth climbing the dome and bell tower, a lot of steps but both have stops half way up. Go to piazza michaelangelo for Sunset and take a bottle of wine. Enjoy Florence, we want to go back already!!

This little hotel is not exactly near the city centre but the 10 minute walk brings you to the Via ? which is a typical elegant side street with hotels, shops, bars, restaurants. The hotel has been created I suspect from a very old building and you go up a very old stone staircase to be greeted with a friendly welcome and a cosy room.A high standard of cleanliness throughout and lovely breakfasts made a short break in Florence very enjoyable

My wife and I stayed for two nights and absolutely loved it.

The staff was very helpful. The room was a good size and decorated very well - Not out of date like a lot of places.

We had a shared bathroom, which I was nervous about at first. Turned out be well run and clean.

Minutes from a lot of major attractions, especially the Accademia and Duomo. Quiet area as well.

Would 100% stay again when we come back.

Good location, kind and helpful staff, good price, nice design of the hotel and room and bathroom, free wifi. Only 1 thing could be better - the size of the bed - for people who are not couple in love too small. I would certainly come back again.

Hi, my girlfriend and I traveled to Florence for 3 nights and decided to stay at this hotel because of the good reviews. First off, the location is good, easy walk to the main attractions in Florence. It's a safe neighborhood and there's a nice cafe downstairs on the corner. The room itself was nothing spectacular but for the price it was nice and clean.

The staff here behaved completely unacceptable. One of the front desk employees stays in a room inside the hostel, next to the room where we stayed. At 10pm on our 3rd night he started banging on the wall. At first we didn't realize what was happening but after repeated banging we heard him yell and then a knock at our door was heard. I went to the door and it was the front desk receptionist, who was fuming and said that he couldn't sleep because he could hear us talking. I asked him if he was banging on the wall earlier and yelling and he said it was him. I told him that this was extremely rude to be the manager of the hotel, and use such passive aggressive actions against his guests. He was unapologetic, and said it was impossible to sleep over and would not apologize for banging and yelling. The rest of our stay it was extremely uncomfortable having set the precedent that he could burst out at any moment. We felt like we lived in the house with the landlord and had to whisper in our room. Would definitely never come back here.

Simply excellent. Comfortable, very clean, the staff really friendly and helpful (I was with my girlfriend who had an unexpected injury: she had broken her achilles during the trip, and after a surgery in Barcelona, we were trying to finish the best as possible our trip, the hostel' staff was really kind in helping us!), a great service. Very close to the city's main attractions, it's exactly what you expect, a good combination between price and quality. I strongly recommend to choose this hostel!
