“nice place in great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012 via mobile

stayed there with my wife in november (but weather was still great) at first had problems to find it (it is located opposite a pub "birrificio", right across the street inside of a building next to da migliana restaurant, so you have to look for a name on the door bell) but when you get there you cannot miss it... the hotel is on third floor and we were greeted by dino at the reception... had a room #5 so no distractions from the street, own personal bathroom, free wifi and a breakfast to the room every morning... room was decent size even thou bit shabby (in the need of fresh painting)... the best thing that the hotel is just minutes away from the historic centre! the walls are bit thin but it didnt disturb us that much to spoil our stay!

This is a good budget hotel. Suitable for a night or two, but look for something a little more comfortable if staying longer in Florence

PROS:
- clean rooms and bathrooms
- friendly staff, helpful with directions and provided a great map
- fast wifi
- nice breakfast delivered to room (croissants, coffee, OJ)
- location is close to train station and 10 minute walk to main sights. Supermarket and markets also nearby. That said, Florence is a very small city and most accomm is walking distance to everything.

CONS:
- our room had a bit of a funny sewerage-type smell occasionally
- our room was noisy and it was difficult to get a good sleep. Unfortunately, we were located in the main hallway near reception; tv/radio on until late in the night, and then quite a bit of early morning noise with people checking out, phone ringing, and conversations from guests and staff. Request a room away from reception if you want to stay here!
- feels more like a hostel rather than hotel

This hotel was extremely conveniently located only 5 minute walk to the train station and 10 minute walk to the downtown (landmarks) area. It was a little hard to find since there are hotels everywhere on the street and almost every door is either a hotel or a restaurant so keep an eye out on your first visit, after that it's pretty easy to find. The hotel was very clean and we got breakfast in bed which was a nice touch even though the breakfast wasn't anything special, it's nice to have some croissants, oj and coffee right after you wake up without having to go anywhere. Check in and check out were extremely easy and there is also free wifi internet, but where our room was located we weren't able to take advantage of it unless we stood outside in the corridor. The person at the front desk was very nice and even let us leave our luggage their on our departure day since we had an afternoon train, so we were able to explore the city some more without having to carry our suitcases around. I was expecting much worse for the price we paid per night, but I was pleasantly surprised and there isn't a single negative thing I can say for this hotel besides maybe the elevator was too old and only one person with a suitcase fit in there and when people used it sometimes they wouldn't close the door so you can't call the elevator, but that had nothing to do with the hotel management. Please keep in mind this is a budget hotel, not a four star hotel with a spa. With budget hotels you get what you pay for and with this hotel, you get more since it's a great location, the service is pretty good and the rooms were pretty clean.

This is a no frills good budget hotel. The location is godd but was reqlly difficult to find as there was no name plate. Just to search by address then you can find it. Although close from Firenze station....Staff if friendly and cooperative. There is good market nearby where you can get all dailyneeds.
