I accompanied my husband to Florence. While he was there to teach at the Meyer Hospital, I was simply enjoying. I lived many years in Italy and know Florence quite well.
LOCATION: Fantastic. Ideal. I love the Oltrarno neighborhood -- while close to everything, it is relatively serene. Piazza Santo Spirito is wonderful.
HOTEL: The hotel occupies the upper floors of a historic building. The spaces are fantastic. Huge rooms, fantastic views. For a three star hotel, it has 4-5 star public areas. In particular, the loggia is a delightful place to sit and sip whatever and to gaze over the city and surrounding hills. The owner/managers are a very lovely couple, and that is reflected by their employees. All make you feel at home. The bathrooms are huge and immaculate. Furnishings are simple and lovely and more than adequate.
The value for the price is outstanding. We will definitely return.
