“Traveling from States”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

The location of the hotel is excellent. The lobby, elevators and surroundings are top notch. Rooms are great. All and all, it's great and would come back. But there are items missing - and I say that because this is such a top notch hotel or seems to be.

No ice bucket in room - have to go to the bar.

Orange juice breakfast from concentrate.

Internet is horrible.

Fitness room is horrible.

The issue is this hotel is so great that I would give it all 5's but they are really cutting corners on fitness room, Internet, some breakfast items.

Finally. Bad signage outside. I'm sure you won't find it on your first attempt.

Great hotel located on the best Piazza in Florence - Piazza Santa Maria Novella. Close to bus & train stations, all the galleries and the not very beautiful churches. Hotel staff lovely, free upgrade to large suite, with unexciting views. Clean but some furniture showing its age. Lots of restaurants and bars in the Piazza

A very nice boutique hotel, within 5 minutes walking distance from the Dome. The train station, if you are arriving by train, is also just a couple of minutes away. The hotel is quite small, and themed after clocks. I had room 503 on the top floor, with a window that directly faced the dome, a very nice sight to wake up to. The room was decently sized, as was the bathroom, which had a bath-shower combination, with rainforest shower.
Breakfast is included in every rate and is very nice. You have a solid choice, from scrambled eggs (in 2 ways) with bacon to Italian style "dolci". The bar is also nice, you can sit outside or inside, inside they have a pool (which you can't swim in) for decoration next to the bar, which is very relaxing. If you like beer, try the beer "Super Baladin" which comes in a prosecco style bottle and is a very interesting alternative to the usual beers.
Only point of criticism was that there were no English language channels on the TV, something that should be standard from this star-class of hotel onward, and the weird location of the towel warming rack, which was IN the shower, so I had to hang them someplace else to not get them wet.

We've stayed here recently for two nights. Lovely hotel, staff is very helpful and friendly, the location is ideal - very close to the train station and all main attractions. We've stayed on the 3rd floor, room number 308 - had a nice partial view, the room is big and clean. The hotel is very clean and beautiful decorations. Our friends stayed here last year and they recommended this place to us, we can now happily recommend this hotel to others too.

Enjoyed stay here. Convenient to everything you must see in Florence. Good sized rooms and bathrooms. Very good breakfast buffet and nice bar area. Quality furnishings. Very good staff. Unusual small elevator! Would recommend for any stay in Florence.

Room Tip: Breakfast buffet is on 4th floor if you want to be close.

Beautiful hotel in great location. Excellent beds and amenities with marble bathrooms. Location can't be beat. Staff goes out of their way to help and give you a good experience. Breakfast was wonderful with a full array of hot and cold dishes in an excellent setting. The theme of the hotel is clocks and watches with some incredible pieces around the hotel. Ambiance is wonderful and is a boutique experience. Would go back again.

We spent three nights at the Hotel L'Orologio. It is a beautiful hotel. The room was lovely, and comfortable and the bathroom was huge and well appointed. The breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room had a beautiful view. The staff was helpful, the location was very convenient, and overall we couldn't be happier with our stay!
