“Ideal location and host in Florence!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

The location can't be beat in Florence! Bruno is a great host, very helpful and friendly, accommodations are clean and comfortable, and breakfast was more than expected. The only possible negatives for some travelers may be the small rooms and stairs, but were not a problem nor unexpected for me. Highly recommended and will return!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I am a "hotel person", and was reluctant to stay at a B&B. But this B&B couldn't have been better! The B&B with its check-in office is about 4 blocks from Piazza Duomo. But I had requested a room with a private internal bathroom. So my room was located on the other side of the river, just across the Ponte Vecchio, then one block away, in a private residential building, with elevator.

My studio room had a private balcony, closet, desk, chairs, microwave, water boiler, fridge, little kitchen, kitchen sink, kitchen utensils, stove, AC, TV, private bathroom, and hair dryer. Right around the corner there are shops, restaurants, and a SUPERMARKET!

I HAD A PERFECT STAY!

We had a perfect stay at Bruno's wonderful B&B. Located in a beautiful part of Florence just a stepstone away from the magnificent Piazza Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio. The rooms were comfortabele and well air conditioned. Bruno is a charming host and makes you feel at home. He serves a sweet breakfast with croissants, bread, sweets, toppings, cereal, yoghurt and fruits to start the day. A lovely place for your stay in Florence.

This B&B has it all, a great location, a fantastic host, and great value. Bruno the host is awesome and whips up a nice breakfast for you to start your day. The badia Fiorentina is in a easy to find location and is right down the street from the best gelato in Florence (Perche No!). Also if you are going to read the new Dan Brown book, Inferno, you will recognize the road it is off of Dante Alighieri, and close to the museum (it is alright).

Room was nice, not the largest, but who cares you are in Florence and in the Tuscany region, get out there and see the city. And make sure you buy the Firenze card (50 euro) if you are staying a couple days, it gets you into everywhere and you get to cut the lines, even at the Uffizi gallery.

If we go back to Firenze this is the place!

My husband and I stayed at the Badia Fiorentina Guesthouse last week for 3 nights. We could not have been more delighted with our stay.

The owner, Bruno, is a sweetheart. Genuinely friendly, helpful, cheerful. Always a smile on his face. He says his English is "not the best"; however, he obviously had not heard our sad Italian!

From the booking process and throughout our stay communication with the B&B was seamless. We arrived in Florence via train from Rome, and were easily able to find the B&B walking with the directions from the B&B website. We were shown to our room (#3), which was extremely clean & comfortable. Room #3 doesn't have a "WOW" view; however, we weren't planning on spending our time in Florence looking out the window. Our room looked out onto a very quiet street. Room #3 does have it's own bathroom, but it is across the hall. You're given a key to your room & a separate key to your bathroom. Again, this was not a problem what-so-ever.

Across the hall from our room is also an area with a refrigerator with beverages (water, wine, beer, etc.). Bruno left a piece of paper near the fridge, and he asks if you take something from the fridge that you kindly give him some money. It was so nice and convenient.

Breakfast each morning was served in a common room. It was simple, but delicious. Yogurt, croissants, coffee, toast. More than enough to keep us fueled for the morning. All guests eat at the same table, which was nice because we got to meet a lot of new people.

The location of the B&B is fantastic, and EVERYTHING in Florence is easily reached via walking from this location. Often, we ate dinner on the South side of the Arno, so it was nice that it was a close walk. We loved visiting the Duomo and other sites first thing in the morning, and late in the evening after the day-trippers had departed. The city is magical when it is quiet!

Bruno - if you read this, THANK YOU! We had a fantastic stay, and would LOVE to return on a future trip to Florence.

If you're considering staying here, please do not have any reservations. It is wonderful.

Room Tip: Room #3 has a private bathroom, but it is across the hall. The room is very quiet and comfortable...

The Badia Fiorentina B&B is by far one of the best I have ever experienced (having visited Florence before). The location is unbeatable! A 5 minute walk to the Duomo, Uffizzi and other attractions in Florence. If we felt tired of exploring, we could easily come back in the afternoon for a short snooze and head out again. The area is safe, has a supermarket, excellent restaurant and pizza place just below the B&B. There is no elevator so one needs to carry bags up about 2 flights of stairs (you really won't mind it once you see the B&B)
The rooms are clean, spacious and tastefully appointed. In fact the whole B&B is warm and welcoming. We were initially sceptical as we had a bathroom (only for us as we were given a key) across the hall from our room but that turned out to be a blessing. The bathroom was HUGE (and not just by European standards!!). It was spotless and had all the amenities one needed.
The breakfast feels like a family affair on a common dining table. An excellent place to meet fellow travellers, exchange notes and tips on the best gelaterias etc. Hot toast, home made brew, fruit, bakery items etc are more than enough to start the day. There is a small fridge in the hallway stocked with water, drinks, wine etc which one can take at any time and make an entry in the register lying there to be paid for while steeling the final bill. (Tea is free!)
However, the highlight of the whole B&B is Bruno. He really makes you feel like a guest in his own home. He is happy to chat with you and has wonderful stories to tell of his extensive global travels. He prides himself in his B&B and loves his city of Firenze. His English might not be too fluent but he is happy to open Google translate on his computer and communicate through that. Thank you Bruno for making us love your city as well! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Florence. (Sulabh and Aparna)

Room Tip: We had room#4 with the HUGE external bathroom...
