I had looked at a number of locations in Florence for our honeymoon. My wife (then to be) had always wanted to go there and so I spent some considerable time looking for an ideal venue. I had found another hotel initially but hadn't booked it, and in one of those final (almost final) searches I came across the Golden Tower. We arrived by private chauffeur, and you cannot get a vehicle right outside but the driver walked us round to the entrance. Set on a relatively quiet street, yet very close to all the key sights, the hotel is well presented with attentive staff. I had seen a room online that I wanted to book, and the staff reserved that room for us (in the tower) and when we arrived there was a gift of Prosecco in our room. Each evening there was a free glass of Prosecco prior to Dinner evening if you weren't dining there. The breakfast was a wide ranging buffet including cheeses, meats, breads, fruit, yoghurt and the list goes on. A great location for exploring this beautiful City. We walked miles and miles as well as visited plenty of bars and sights and returned to a very comfortable hotel in what was one of the quieter parts of the City. My only comment would be was that the Dinner menu was the same for each of the three nights we were there, and didn't appeal, however you are never far from a wide range of places to eat. We used the Spa area a couple of times, it is quite small but was never busy.
