Just returned from a 4 night fantastic stay at this hotel....I can not fault any part of it. On arrival we were upgraded to a suite as we were celebrating my husbands 50th birthday. The room was amazing and on his actual birthday a bottle of champagne was also delivered to the room. The Spa was lovely and relaxing and the breakfast was more than adequate. In my opinion definitely worth the 5 star rating.

I stayed with my son for 5 nights .. It was a wonderful experience , we enjoyed the hotel very much .. My son had the best body massages he ever had and enjoyed relaxing in the spa. The breakfasts were excellent with so much variety and well presented . The staff very helpful and friendly , especially as I was taken unwell during the stay .. The situation is perfect for accessing all the wonders of Florence . All the restaurant recommendations where excellent and gave us a real treat .
Would certainly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again .

The hotel was fantastic. The staff were fantastic. The rooms were well appointed and immaculately clean. The breakfasts were great. The location was terriific. So sorry I had to mark it down but this is due to the fact that despite the lovely comfortable beds, we could not sleep till the early hours of the morning.
There is a bar across the road which is a favourite with young folk who love to boogie till the wee small hours, (even on a Monday night). There is a DJ with decks in an outdoor conservatory on the pavement and even with the windows shut we could still hear him. One evening the DJ not only had decks but also a drum kit! Another part of the problem is that even when the DJ finishes (late at weekends), the party goers take a long time to wend their very noisy and vocal way home. Such a shame. We did call reception on one evening but there was nothing they could do.
We asked for a quiet room on a high floor when we booked. The beautiful room was on a high floor as requested but certainly not quiet even with the tiny window. I am so sorry to have to mark the hotel down but the noise was a big issue for us. We would certainly go back to this fine hotel but only when they close the bar across the road. Sorry Golden Tower!

I entrusted my husband to make the accommodation bookings for our honeymoon and it is fair to say he is firmly in the good books for a long while!

The hotel is centrally located but surprisingly very quiet.

In my opinion the photographs of the lounge and dining area do not do this hotel justice, it is airy and fresh, I have to also say very clean. There seemed to be always someone ensuring the floors were polished and clean.

The staff are amazing, courteous and extremely helpful. We ate at the restaurant they recommended and we were not disappointed. We took dinner at the hotel on arrival, don't be put off by the small menu as what they do have is well cooked, presented and tasty.

The breakfast is lovely and there is a very good selection to suit all tastes.

I did use the spa and I was impressed with the range of massages available and the facilities are very good, great way to relax after pounding the streets of Florence.

We had a junior suite which was well appointed. My husband is 6'7 and we did worry about the low beams but he did not bump his head once, it is just being realistic about you environment, it is a historic building you are not going to get huge rooms as per some ubiquitous European hotel chains.

It is not cheap but looking at other hotels in the area I don't think it is overly expensive for what you get. I was so sad when we checked out, it is a true gem and we hope to be back one day.
