I spent 2 nights at this property in early February. Check in is at their sister property 2 blocks away. Everyone of staff there was very kind, and Roberta in particular was most helpful in answering questions and locating things on a map for me.
As other's here have said, the location is superb, you can walk to any place in the historic center in 10 minutes. The view of the piazza and the Duomo was wonderful. I was a bit apprehensive before my arrival that there would be noise from the square. The double glazed windows shut out just about all noise and my sleep was very restful. No need to worry. There are also wooden shutters that block out light.
I just want to touch on the decor. It is beautiful. It is obvious that Claudio and his staff have spent considerable time thinking of what will make one's stay enjoyable. The common areas smell fresh, and there are guidebooks in several languages you can read or borrow during your stay. The room had an arrangement of fresh flowers, along with dried lavender in the bathroom. The towels are large and of good quality, as are the bed sheets. Overall, staying here is a very enjoyable experience.
My only issue, and what keeps me from giving this 5 stars was problems with wifi. Neither my laptop or phone was able to "see" the B&B's wifi portal, so I could never log on. I was able to see the networks of other hotels and businesses within the building, but never La Dimora's. To his credit, Claudio tried to assist, but was unable to solve the issue for me. Roberta did let me use the office computer to check in for my flights. Also, be aware the telephone in the room only will call the office at the Degli Angeli property, and you will not be able to make calls to businesses in Florence, or to use a calling card to phone home.
Lastly, the provided breakfast at the cafe was the best I had in Italy, and is a great start to the morning. You have many pastries from which to choose, and the coffee and juice is of very high quality.
