“great city to wander with amazing history, food and sights round every corner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

Florence is an amazing city with history around every corner, great markets, bars and places to eat. the best thing is to just wander and enjoy. The bus tour through the city into the hills above Florence, hop on and hop off is greatly recommended.
The excelsior hotel bar on the roof of the hotel on the river is magnificent, go in the afternoon and you will get a seat overlooking the town.

“Tours with Aleeza of Florencetown Tours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

My sister, husband and I spent three days in Florence and booked two tours with Florencetown: the Inferno tour and the Uffizi/Vasari Corridor tour. We were fortunate to have Aleeza as our guide for both tours. She was wonderful- enthusiastic, fun, fluent and well versed on her subjects, without being dry or pedantic. She spiced her narrative with tales of political and social intrigue of the times and was herself witty and charming. Ask for her- you'll be glad you did.

“Florence Boat Tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

This was a lovely way to spend an evening! I took the boat ride at about 6:30 pm, in September it was around sunset, and it was really beautiful. The weather was perfect so that really did help. Our guide (I forgot his name, sadly) was knowledgeable, but I'm not sure how well everyone could hear him. I was sitting by him so it was fine for me, but he didn't have a microphone and he wasn't super loud. I did notice the previous guide was using a microphone. Otherwise, it was really enjoyable, he told us about the buildings and bridges along the way, plus some history of Florence. About half way he opened the prosecco, there was plenty to go around and you could have a second cup if you liked. It was a different way to see Florence and to get away from the crowds on the bridges, I would definitely recommend it. It wasn't too long, a little over an hour, so it's easy to fit in during site seeing.

“zero facilities for the older or slightly infirm tourist”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

Florence is a dirty town.Takes in 10 of millions of euros every day from the tourist but provides zero facilities for them or anybody. No benches to sit on,no water fountains and no public toilets. The museums are extremely overpriced, and some are brokens up into section where you have to pay extra to go into the different section.all in poor repair with no lifts or public facilities.

“Florence Shared Walking Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

Jessica Giarratano was our guide and she did a really wonderful job at explaining all the history and interesting stories behind each of the sights we saw. She connected with the group and you can tell she was passionate about what she was doing which makes it more fun and more engaging. The tour included seeing the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio, along with others. Our guide included a walk across the bridge from main tourist area to see traditional Florentine neighborhood.
