Description: Florentine restaurant in Florence since 1980.Tuscan Chef.traditional cuisine (great Fiorentina steak) but even lots of seasonal recepies with fresh fish and meat. vegetarian and gluten free menù is also available.very interesting proposals in the wine card :local producers and even organic wines to experience for a real "touch" about our land.good atmosphere and courtesy add something special to the food.Ristorante familiare con staff. Cucina fiorentina e creativa. Tanti i vini in carta con particolare attenzione a piccole realtà territoriali.l'accoglienza è cortese e cordiale .

“Always One of Florence's Best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

Since we first discovered Ristorante Il Paiolo years ago, we always return to the restaurant on Via del Corso 42r when we visit Florence. This Florentine culinary gem has been family owned and operated for over 30 years and the atmosphere is warm and relaxed. Owner Caterina is the most gracious host in the historic district and her seasonal Tuscan menu is simply delicious. This trip, we managed to dine in her pretty restaurant three times, one night for some wonderful fresh fish, another for the Florentine bistecca of course, and a third for an outstanding ribollita, made from a recipe that was passed down in Caterina’s family from her great grandmother. When it’s time for us to return home, we are always sad to leave this wonderful dining experience behind us . . . grazie mille!

“Highlight of our Florence trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

This restaurant was the highlight of our Florence eating experience. The hosts were very accommodating and provided a wonderful interpretation of the Italian only menu. On top of that they were very happy to cook up pretty much anything we asked for as long as they had the ingredients. They even provided take out one evening when my daughter was not well, a light risotto wrapped in foil and placed in a plastic bag, they could not have been more thoughtful. The atmosphere was wonderful in this little restaurant with vines growing overhead and a lovely old lady playing hostess. A must if visiting Florence.

“Excellent Food and Wonderful Hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

This restaurant was recommended by our B&B hosts and it turned out to be a gem and one of the highlights of our visit in Florence. The location is convenient and close to San Marco piazza. We asked for an English menu and the hostess/owner said she was it. She asked what we had in mind and then made some recommendations. Porcini mushrooms were in season so one of our entres was linguini with olive oil, diced tomatoes, and mushrooms. It was delicious, not overladen with sauces or spices so we could taste the fresh lively flavors of the food. Our other entre was a grilled white fish, also cooked to perfection. I also had tomatoes with olive oil and fresh basil, one of my favorites in Florence. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and lively, typical of the family owned Italian restaurants. Highly recommend a visit.
