I can understand why this place has gotten some mixed reviews, but I've eaten here numerous times over the years, as well as at all the other best known pizzerias in Florence and it still remains my favorite. I've never had a pizza that could top the chiummanzana - flawless, plenty of mozzarella and a ricotta filled crust. Also the location is very charming, it's designed to look like a little road through Naples. If I were to recommend one place to have a pizza in town I'd pick this one. That said, I don't recommend it as highly for other dishes. The seafood servings are sparse and quite overpriced. The desserts are so-so. Service is hit or miss. And due to the design of the place, the noise level is very high - if you are seated with a large group you won't be able to hear everyone well. For more quiet, ask to be seated in the back room (which is plain looking). Despite these few shortcomings, whenever I want a great Neapolitan pizza, there is the place I always come back to.
