This was probably one of my FAVORITE experiences in our 2 week stay in Italy!!! Christina, our lovely, pixie, blue-haired guide was a delight! Her passion for the amazing foods make you want to move to Florence entirely for the gastronomical joy the city offers. Though the price seemed moderate to pricey for a tour, what you receive is well worth it (we skipped breakfast and lunch and had a Caprese sandwich for dinner!). We had anticipated getting a 'taste' of each stop's offerings, but what you get is "This balsamic tastes soooo good with this cheese. This olive oil is amazing with this bread and fresh tomatoes. This will taste better if we sip some Prosecco beforehand to clean our palates." And the size of the 'tastes'? Honestly, we had full servings of probably 4 or 5 pastries and ended with 4 cups full of amazing gelato! In between we had wine, cheese, olive oil and balsamic tastings, the most delicious boiled beef sandwich and prosciutto. Christina was so much fun and was so informative. Much love to her for enlightening me to the love of IGP and DOP products! :) The ONLY issue I personally had was that we were unable to spend an additional day in Florence after the tour... If you are considering this, try to book at the beginning of your stay so that you can enjoy all the flavors that Florence has to offer and that theTaste Florence tour turns you on to! Loved it and if I get the chance, would do again!! BTW... we were in a lovely, small group of 6 which made the experience very intimate and our 3 hour 15 minute tour turned into 5 hours!!!
