“Really, this small place is great of its kind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

We went to Le Volpi e l'Uva—barely a stone's throw from Ponte Vecchio, but an oasis from the tourist madness—because an Italian colleague recommended it as a nice place to get a crisp glass of Italian wine, along with some expert advice, before dinner. We got the glass of wine—a Verdicchio for us both—and the advice, and a plate of Tuscan charcuterie to go with. And then we decided that we were so happy with the wine and the advice and the food that we'd make our dinner there, as we did with another lovely glass of wine—Colli Orientali Friulano—and a plate of smoked trout. The discovery and the oasis and the wine and the food all made for a perfect evening.

“The best of the best in Florence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

A trip to Florence should never be without a visit here. Spend the afternoon sampling delicious wines, excellent snacks (The truffle salami and cheese toasts are outstanding)
Hard to find, thank goodness but if you want to be Italian for an afternoon skip the Pitti Palace and sit and watch the world go by. Don't miss this experience, sample and enjoy

“The Ideal Place for a Glass of Wine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

Le Volpi e l'Uva is a little wine bar in the Oltrarno section of Florence between the Ponte Vecchio and the Pitti Palace. Its outdoor seating is on a small piazza beside the Church of Santa Felicita. This is an ideal spot to take a break and relax with a glass of fine wine and a plate of assorted cheeses and/or cured meats. Even a glass of Brunello di Montalcino, considered by many experts to be the world's finest red wine, is surprisingly inexpensive here, and it pairs beautifully with a plate of varied Italian cheeses. There are also other foods such as hot or cold sandwiches and a few sweets, the the wine are what it is really all about. There is nothing fancy or pretentious about this place, but it is comfortable as well as convenient. The proprietor will happily try to please any taste or will provide guidance for those less certain about which wine to order. Do try to stop here at least once while you are in Florence.

“Great stop after Santa Felicita”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

We read about this place in Food Lovers Guide to Florence. Emily Wise Miller was right, the proprietor offers wines and beers from local producers(small ones, when they get too famous he goes looking for new small producers) and the price is right! Tuscan wines, so reasonable.
We went after seeing Pontormos great Deposition and had some delicious wines. Practically no one was there, and then this wonderful six foot tall close to middle age woman who weighed maybe 100 pounds sauntered in, with a large black turban and long red fingernails. Smoked and drank a glass of wine. My husband saw I was itching to take a photo but that would have been rude so I just enjoyed her presence. The bar itself isn't much, a small outside seating with an awning and a nice wooden bar inside with a blackboard announcing the day's offerings. Nice place to refresh and regroup.

“The luxury of a good wine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

Located in the heart of Florence this enoteca is great place. Very good selection of the Italian and French wines. The main interest is that this place specializes in small or little known wineries. You can find here very interesting wines, taste them, choose or/and buy a bottle. Prices are OK, not overpriced.
Stuff is great, very friendly. We received a lot of really good recommendations from stuff.
We tasted a lot wines here and found real pearls.
Wines are the main menu items and also you can take delicious panini that can be made with chosen by you ingredients for a titbit.
I highly recommend this place if you are interested in really good wines. Be sure you will be hedged round with care and attention. And you will find wine that suits for you.
