“Absolutely perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2011

Perfect apartment, perfect location and perfect hosts!
We stayed in L'Acacia Apartment at the end of May 2011 and had the best holiday in Florence we could have wished for. Particular highlights were eating meals on the roof terrace with fantastic views over central florence, the building itself which is very old and beautiful (a 15th century Palazzo) and last but by no means least, the lovely coffee that our hosts supplied which we were able to make in the coffee maker supplied - the best coffee I have had in ages! The location is great too within easy reach of everything we wanted to see - Santa Croce, the Uffizi, the Academia, the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo and the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens. You won't be disappointed!

This bed and breakfast far exceeded our expectations. The location is ideal - steps away from the historic center of the city, and within walking distance of everything you could want to see in Florence. The hotel was clean, spacious, and offerred an excellent breakfast with endless croissants, coffee, and meat (a rarity in Italian hotels). The bathroom was clean and spacious. Our room included a sitting area with TV, bathrobes and slippers, and big windows. There was also a common sitting area and we could use the refrigerator free of charge. The hostess, Diana, was very helpful and friendly. She offered to reserve our museum tickets for us in advance, which was a great idea to avoid lines. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family, and would stay there again. We stayed in six hotels throughout Italy in two weeks (22 April - 7 May), and this hotel was our favorite!!!

Room Tip: Noise travels through the walls from the streets.

This is our second trip THIS YEAR staying in the 2 bedroom apartment, this time without teenage boys, just my husband and I.
It was like coming home! The apartment was beautiful, as we knew, but was especially appreciated as we were visiting in the winter and without our children, we tended to nest a bit more in the apartment, so it was particularly warm and cozy.
Diana recommended La Botte, an amazing wine bar, just around the corner, which I highly recommend. (I was actually on assignment for a wine journal and this was a GREAT find!)
Too many "pluses" to mention the ONLY considerations for guests are, like many guest homes and small hotels all over Florence, there are several flights of stairs, so a concern for those with mobility problems and, likewise the bathtub/ shower area is quite small. We are 5'8 and 6' and it was a bit tight. Just an FYI!!!!

A small BB located in the historic center of the city (a few steps away from the Santa Croce Basilica), which we enjoyed much: no matter if wanted to have a quick nap, wanted to get rid of carrying any stuff or clothes - 5 minutes home on foot... :)
It is located in a historic building, and the family might has something to do with the history as well since the grandma has the same name as the building (and the street... :) ). Has only 2-3 rooms and an apartment, separated from a really huge flat owned by the family.
Rooms: spacious, stylish furnished. Cleanliness far above the high standards, really spotless. Was pretty noisy (especially on a Saturday) during the night, really no problem for us, but if you are not a good sleeper, might not be a good choice for you (but count with it that probably they are not alone with this problem in the city center...).
Bathroom: every room has a separate bathroom, newly furbished, as clean as the rooms and quite big enough. However (probably it was not permitted to modify the old walls) you will need to walk through the BB's own living room to reach them. Bathtubs, slippers provided, was REALLY NO PROBLEM AT ALL! The whole place is not too busy to make any fuss on it, actually it made us feel more like at home...
Breakfast was excellent. The owners were really nice. Stayed there 4 nights, would go back any time. Absolutely recommended.

The apartment is very clean and elegant. It is furnished with lots of antiquities and this was very interesting to us as it provides an idea of the old Florence homes. It is situated in a very central position, close to all major sites. Interestingly, there's a supermarket nearby and also an "Enoteca" so one can eat and drink excellent wines at very low prices(there's very good food). The bathroom is a little small, but we managed.
The owners are very nice and respectful. They are providing a starter kit with all little things you might need on a first day, when you don't know exactly where to buy what you might need which was extremely handy for us.
All in all, we had a great stay

This is a place very far from the ordinary. Up lots of ancient marble steps to the very top of a 15th century palazzo, a wonderful view from the terrace over the roof tops with glimpses of the Duomo, and even as far as the nearby hill towns.
I loved the piano, the hospitable Rosalie, the fab location and the awesome terrace.
I didn't like the heat at night, the attic rooms are right under the terracotta roof and bake in sticky July heat, but they would be fine at another time of year I'm sure. Oh and the bathroom was challengingly small.
Overall, it's a great place for a few days, I'd like to go back in Spring or Autumn.
