“So glad I found this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012 via mobile

Stayed for two weeks and it was just what I needed. Beautiful private garden, close enough to everything to be practical but in a quiet area. Great bus access.

Excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. The only thing to consider is it's a long hike from the train station. If you're arriving at SMN take a taxi, or a quick bus ride. Buses C2 and C3 run right from the train station to the Beccaria stop which is just at the corner.

Evelyn was wonderful, always ready to help.

Fortunate to stay here for our 4th year in a row, it was even more wonderful than we remembered ! The lovely and charming Evelyne took great care of us as she always has done. The beautiful rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable The sumptious breakfast in the gorgeous and peaceful garden was delicious ;especially the perfect omelet Evelyne made ! What a relaxing way to start each day. She assisted us with directions, dinner reservations, and suggestions on new places to dine. Even with her busy schedule, she took the time to be very helpful and gracious. Located close to all the fabulous sites in Firenze, it was great to be able to walk everywhere. We are looking forward to staying at Emily's Rooms again next year ,since we would not think of staying anywhere else ! Grazie mille to Evelyne for making our 40th anniversary perfect ! We had a wonderful stay in this B&B near the centre of Florence. Evelyne (who speaks French and English) is a perfect hostess. We booked a double room but were able to change it to the family rooms (2 bedrooms and a bathroom). We loved the paintings on the high ceiling. The rooms and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Furthermore there is the garden and the garden room. I just loved the breakfast in the garden. Evelyne made us warm croissants and toast with ham and cheese. Also there was plenty of orange juice and a bowl with fresh fruits.
The B&B is set just outside the historic centre of Florence, but the walk through the old streets was never too much. In the neighbourhood of the B&B there are some restaurants in Via Gioberti, like Il Barrino or the neighbourhood restaurant Cocotrippone. There is also a large COOP supermarket just around the corner.
The only thing we missed in this B&B was an opportunity to boil some water in the afternoon for a cup of tea.

We stayed 3 nights at Emily's room in june, we spent a delightful time , very romantic. We really appreciated the excellent breakfast in the nice garden. The localization is perfect to visit Florence , in a very nice area with typical good restaurants without all the tourists and it's only 10min by walk to reach the Duomo. !The bedroom was very spacious very beautiful and quiet. Evelyne , the owner is discret but very helpful to give you indications to visit the authentic Florence , she quite understand your feeling.
I we could you would like to come for new year's eve, Evelyne will organize romantic aperitivo!!
Thanks a lot to evelyne and to the cat emma

I first contacted Emily's Rooms to check weather or not it was possible to book a specific room for our stay on Florence. The owner promptly replied via email to inform me that normally rooms are assigned on arrival but since the room we requested was available she would book it for us for the entire stay (and confirmed so in writing). On the arrival date we were running slightly late due to traffic so we called Emily's Rooms just to inform them we were delayed but still coming. The lady answering the phone told me she was going to wait for us but we had to be there by 8 because she had plans that evening and was not going to be there to open the door after then. We finally managed to get to Florence by 8:15 as we couldn't find any parking space (and when we called Emily's Rooms to ask for advice on where to park the lady wasn't very helpful). When we got to Emily's Rooms the lady showed us to our room, unfortunately it wasn't the room we had booked and when we confronted her saying that this was not what was agreed she said that the room we had chosen had been given to someone else the day before. Her attitude was awful so we decided to leave at which point she told us we could not leave and that she had been waiting for us so this was not an option. We told her that we were not happy with the way our booking had been dealt with (what kind of business confirms a booking and then gives the room out to someone else?!) and we left. On our way out we could hear her complaining that this was unbelievable. Yep, Emily's Rooms this is unbelievable indeed!!

My daughter Jane and I had the pleasure of staying at Emily's Rooms last September. Evelyne was the most gracious lovely woman who took great care of us. She offered and made museum reservations , so we were able to avoid waiting in long lines. She suggested restaurants and was so helpful. Each morning we enjoyed the most delicious breakfast in the garden, relaxed and well prepared for a busy day. The location of Emily's Rooms allows for an easy walk to all the wonderful sites . We remember our Italian vacation with such fondness especially our stay with Evelyne. I can not wait to stay at Emily's Rooms this September Peggy
