My cousin and I originally planned to stay two nights while visiting Cortona, but within a few minutes of our arrival and walking around the beautiful B&B property and meeting Simonetta, the owner, and being greeted by her very friendly dogs and also being introduced to her other guests --- we lucked out by extending our stay to five nights. The B&B is roomy, beautifully decorated and so very welcoming and is perfectly located for day trips to hill towns and cities in Tuscany. It was nice to come back every evening from a day of touring and relax in the guest living room. The B&B felt like our home away from home!
Breakfast was always full of yummy choices and the dining room is most inviting. Simonetta provided excellent suggestions for our day trips and was most helpful in arranging an overnight stay in Lucca. And, we certainly enjoyed our cooking lesson with Simonetta --- lots of laughs and photos --- and the evening meal for four (other guests from Conneticut) was a wonderful Tuscan treat --- it included all the food we prepared that afternoon as well as some red wine!
Yes, a car is needed to stay here. Iif you like large rooms, clean and spacious baths and enjoy waking up to lovely country views in all directions, then Casa Bellavista is a definite stop on your tour through Tuscany.
