“Beautiful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

This hotel was a stop on our three week journey through France/Italy and it was a beautiful surprise. We drove by motorbike, it was hard to find but luckily we had a sat nav. It is located in a small village which is beautiful. We spent two nights here. The hotel is a bit out dated and our room had a bit of a damp smell but the view from our room definetly made up for it! It was amazing. The hotel staff were very friendly, they let us park both motorbikes right outside the door. We had breakfast in the village in the mornings, not in the hotel, although the hotel did provide a basic breakfast. The restaurant next to the hotel was lovely but we loved the restaurants in the village. Just the perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery! We would definetly stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view!

This is a great hotel. And a very, very helpful staff. Although it is located parallel to the busiest street in this small town, it is quiet and very comfortable. The view from my room went on for mies and miles. Quiet happy with the breakfasts and the outdoor patio was very pleasant at the end of the day.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view, obviously.

We are staying two nights and our breakfast this first day was possibly worst ever. The sliced cheese must have been several days old, the bread dry, the coffe was cold. The staff didn't fill up when something was missing. And my wife had to fetch her coat since there were no free tables inside.

We found this hotel here on trip advisor and based on the reviews we booked our stay. Very Happy with this Hotel!! We had a balcony overlooking the Tuscan valley that was just beautiful. The room was comfortable! The bathroom was also big enough with a step in shower and good water pressure too!! Elisa at reception was such a help from our earlier emails to train schedules and taxi pick up!! Breakfast was served in their sunroom overlooking the valley which again was beautiful!! Would certainly stay here again!!

This hotel's staff took great care of us when we arrived one day earlier than our tour group. They went out of their way to make sure that our reservations got linked so that we would not have to change rooms. This hotel is on a hill with the lobby / reception area and breakfast room on top - you go down to rooms. Higher rooms looking out over the hillside have the best views. The hotel room is small but exceptionally efficient in the use of space - felt much bigger than it was. Breakfast is a little better than typical Italian with espresso drinks, pastries, cheese, yogurt, cereal and cold cuts - you are not going to find an American style breakfast here. Location is right on the edge of the city which I think is better than being inside the city. Corotona is so small you can walk from one end to the other in ten minutes.

Room Tip: High floor looking out over the hillside

I have stayed at the Hotel San Luca on six different occasions, and I am bringing my tour group there April of 2014. I think the views, staff and the rooms are what Tuscan dreams are made of.
The rooms are small, but adequate. The staff is always available to assist, and seem happy to do so. The location and views are the best!

Room Tip: Ask for a view...even if it costs a little more!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

We were here for a week for business, and almost immediately started looking for other places to stay on our next trip to Cortona. The location is marvelous - perfect for exploring the lovely old hill town of Cortona. The views were extraordinary. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the buffet breakfast was good. But the room was dark and when you opened the window you looked onto the wall of the city so no direct sunlight and no view. Beds were acceptable, Frette hotel grade linens, pillows were horrible - like someone had stuffed a pair of pants into a pillowcase to pass off as a pillow. Sad. Bathroom had been upgraded and was nice. This would not be my first choice of places to stay in Cortona. Wifi was a pain as you needed to get a code almost daily and keep logging in for access. They have a computer on the floor below the lobby entrance.

Room Tip: If you want a room with a view, book well in advance and don't be traveling with a group.
