I have been in 44 countries and over 100 cities worldwide but never met such a friendly and genuine staff like the Villa Marsili team. Clean rooms and great authentic breakfast. Very convenient location with breathtaking view. It's simply fantastic.

The property just outside the town center is perfectly located for exploring Cortona or traveling through Tuscany. Breakfast buffet was the best I have experienced all throughout Europe. The staff was courteous and professional and they were very efficient. Highly recommend this property.

Our four nights in Cortona were delightful. The warm and enthusiastic team at the front desk (shoutout to Joana, Luana and Stefano) attended to our every need, from mapping the highlights of this compact and well-preserved hilltop town, to advice on nearby day trips, to restaurant recommendations and reservations. They'll even park your car if you can't find a free spot on the road up the hill.

The bed was firm, the bathroom/shower compact and well designed. The wifi was free and worked.

Every evening there are appetizers to go with drinks and a wide selection of wines. The ample breakfast buffet has a tempting assortment of meats, cheeses, fresh tomatoes, egg dishes, cereals/muesli, pastries, and juices. Try the lemon ricotta cake and you'll never see breakfast the same way again.

The other guests were couples traveling alone or in groups from home, and the occasional high end tour group, leading to a convivial experience in all the public areas.

We were very pleased with the Villa Marsili.

There were so many amazing things we experienced in our stay in this hotel that's its hard to know where to start. The amazing staff who know you by name, the breathtaking view right from your room and the nice breakfast. Cortona it self is a very charming town. (p.s. Take the delux rooms the view is worth every penny)

We spent 5 nights in that beautiful hotel. The only thing that bothers is the parking issue but they were sooo kind( especially Marvin) and they helped us by finding parking and moving the car later when it was possible.
We surly will return there!

This is a top notch hotel! Awesome and accommodating staff. Wonderful breakfast! Close by to the City Square, restaurants, shopping. Beautiful views. I would definitely stay here again! Not that far from Florence.

There are so many great things I can say about Villa Marsili in Cortona. I knew I wanted to get married in Cortona the first time I visited this place (one of my favorite movies Under The Tuscan Sun was based on this town). I first discovered this place when my Italian wedding planner Cristiana Chiaccherini suggested a hotel where our guests could stay. When I found out that Diane Lane actually stayed here during the filming of the movie, we were sold. I went there in September of 2012 to check out the location. We were so impressed by the friendliness of the staff, location of the hotel (one of the best views of Tuscan countryside from the mountain hill town town of Cortona), cleanliness of the hotel/rooms, cute little outside garden area, amazing array of breakfast buffet items, selection of snacks and drinks available before dinner time, the list goes on and on.

Reading all the positive reviews here on Trip Advisor and the number of awards they have won, you be can assured that you will have a great experience at this hotel.

After our wedding in December of 2012, all of our guests couldn't be happier about where we stayed. Villa Marsili was a perfect location for our hotel/stay. I will stay here every time I come back to Cortona and will recommend this hotel to anyone that is visiting this area. Cortona is also wonderful home base for your visit around Tuscany.

Update: I stayed here again this week (April 2014) and the experience has not changed one bit. The same workers are still here and now I feel like I am part of the family when I visit here.

Room Tip: If you want to splurge, the the suite room. Also if available, has for a room with the view of the T...
