Order the Scottona. Gorgeous ambiance, professional service. A bit pricey but the quality is worth it.

“Great food, beautiful restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2014

Our spontaneous road trip across Italy led us to Cortona. We stumbled across the restaurant for dinner and was not disappointed! Quirky vaulted stone caverns with modern furniture give off cool yet homely vibes. The waiter was brilliant, he made my friend and I feel very welcome, he spoke great English and gave good recommendations for what to eat. I had the white and dark sausage with roasted potatoes as a side, it was heavenly and probably the best dinner I have eaten whilst in Italy! Delicious. I would definitely recommend.

“Great Fish restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2014

The food was delicious. We started with appetizers of Prosciutto with Buffalo Mozzarella and a seafood soup. The Seafood soup was superb, but it was more of a plate of seafood with sauce than a real soup. Luckily we kept our appetizers small because were were stuffed after our next course, the Fish of the day (sea Bass)- The Fish was baked in a salt crust and it kept the mositure inside.
When the bill came around though, we were a bit surprised- it seems our waiter had an issue with English numbers and confused 60 euros/kg with 16 euros/kg. Next time, I think we'll have him write it on a piece of paper instead of telling us the price.

“Out of the way, historic location & great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2014

This beautiful restaurant is located down the same narrow walkway that leads to Galleria il Pozzo and shares the same history. What a find it was! Cozy, candlelit tables nestled among the old walls of Etruscan homes from long ago. They specialize in meat and fish, with a fresh display of both, but their pastas and salads are equally delicious. This lovely restaurant should be a must for every Cortona traveler!

“Best Restaurant of the Trip! Great food and prices!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2014

When my boyfriend and I came home from our tour of Italy we made top 5 lists to remember where we want to return to. AD Braceria topped both of our lists. Our B&B hosts recommended it and we can't thank them enough. You walk in the door and see the meat, butcher block and fire. The cave-like atmosphere is beautiful and sets you up for a night of great food and wine. We got there early for dinner (around 6) and had the place to ourselves for about a half hour, which let us wander around. We had bruschetta as an appetizer and a great pasta as our first course. The lamb for our second course was our best course of the trip. It was fresh, cooked and seasoned perfectly and just the right portion. We had the house red wine, also great. The best part was the prices. That meal in the states would have been twice the price and half as fresh. We can't wait to go back to Cortona, and especially AD Braceria!
