“Second trip and still love it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014 via mobile

We decided to come back to Villa di Piazzano after an amazing trip last year. We wanted to see more of Tuscany and it can't be beaten for location and beauty.

The staff were as attentive as ever, and the rooms were still beautiful.

It's a special place for us and would highly recommend a visit.

We stayed here for 4 nights this week whilst attending a wedding and we will be going back. The owner's father Damian was charming as was Massimo the night porter and all the other staff - they were all really lovely helpful people and charming with it. Cortona is great and having styed at Il Falconerie last time at considerable more cost, I know which hotel will draw me back.
Superb gardens, lovely view and super Italian food. We both loved it. Well done!

Room Tip: All great with lovely views.

When something is as perfect as the Villa, it is actually hard to write a review! As other guests wrote, the property, the staff, the food, the rooms - all great! We loved our room, and the others that I saw were equally attractive.
I suppose that what says the most about how we felt about the Villa is, that after our scheduled week there, we headed to another location for what was to be another stay. However, we missed the Villa so much that we cancelled our plans, and returned for another 6 days! We were welcomed back and made to feel very much at home.
Another thing that deserves special mention is that the friendly and kind owners are present in the evening. This makes a real and positive difference to the total experience.
And did anyone else write about the location? Perfect for touring around Tuscany and also Umbria.
Moreover, you are only 5 minutes from Cortona, a town that is so much fun to visit.
I feel that we found a special place where we will always be welcome. Thank you to the Wimpole family and the entire staff. We miss you!

Gabriella is a wonderful chef and teacher. Her passion for cooking shows in everything she does. My husband who really didn't want to take her course actually had the best time. And as much as we had fun we actually learned a tremendous amount of cooking skills that we brought home with us. But of course the best part of the time was eating the delicious food that Gabriella prepared!

Wow! Where do we start? Feom the moment we arrived, it was obvious this was going to be a special experience. The property is amazing and beautifully kept/restored. All the staff are just devine and they go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable and have everything you need (they definitely go the extrat distance). I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a true Tuscan expereiience.

Room Tip: We had our 2 children (aged 14 & 16) share a room with us and there was plenty df space - a very...

Sandy and I stayed at Villa do Piazzano in 2004, loved it and so it was a natural choice to celebrate Sandy's big birthday this year with friends and family. The whole team at VdP did a fantastic job at making sure our 3 days will be remembered by us all for a very long time. The location, the rooms, the gardens, the people, the food, the wine, Aperol Spritz under the trees before dinner, red balloons & helium specially sourced. Thank you! If you are thinking of staying here book now...

We spent 3 nights here in the summer of 2014. The place is beautiful, peaceful, iconic and quiet. They have only 27 rooms so you will feel like you are alone even though there are people around. It's an old hunting lodge so it's more like staying in someone's home than like being in a hotel. They even have actual room keys - keys metal ones not the magno stripe we have all gotten used to. The staff is helpful and speaks English quite well.

You will need a car if you stay here. The hotel is about a 7 minute drive from Cortona and other than hiking into the countryside, there are no services you can walk to outside of the hotel. You won't need to as the staff can do anything you need.

Enjoy your stay. We did.
