“Excellent tour company”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2014

I found Ciao Laura after reading an issue of Food & Wine; they highlighted "bespoke wine tours" and though Ciao Laura was not mentioned, I found them as I researched options for our Italy trip.

Laura was very responsive to inquiries and many, many follow up questions. She facilitated a wine tour for me and four others and invoiced us separately to keep logistics as easy as possible.

She arranged for our day in Avellino at Feudi di San Gregorio. We had a tour of the winery, bubbles, salumi and cheese in the cellar and then an amazing six course meal with wine pairings at their Michelin-starred restaurant.

She also connected us with Massimo, our driver and guide, who just made our day. (I have reviewed him separately at Sorrento SilverStar.)

Included in our tour price were: the tour at Feudi di San Gregorio, the welcome drink and snacks there, the lunch at Marenna and having our driver for 9 hours. The value for money was great, especially divided amongst the five of us. Overall, it was a great experience and I am grateful for Laura's help in creating a truly lovely day.

“Cicchetti tour in Venice - fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2014

This was a cicchetti (bar snacks) tour that concentrated on quality food and accompanying drinks (unlike so many many that are bar crawls). We met our guide Monica (who was absolutely lovely) and she took us to sample Venice's best gelato to start our tour. Venice is full of tourists but we saw parts of Venice where the locals ate and drank. We visited 3 places - chose our wine and Monica picked out a plate of local cicchetti to try. We were so impressed with both Monica and this tour - it made our trip to Venice so much more special. We even went to the final restaurant the next night for dinner because of the quality of food. Next time I'm in Italy I will certainly book another tour from Ciao Laura. Tip - try everything as some foods in Italy taste completely different (better) than those at home.

“Casual cooking with kids in Tuscany”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

It was a small group cooking course in a very lovely kitchen setting. Kids enjoyed themselves very much. Veronica was very friendly. We got useful tips. Menu wasn't complicated and this really inspires kids to try their learning at home. It would be perfect if every of us got the recipe sheets.

“Phenomenal Cooking Class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2014

We had a private cooking class with Veronica in her Tuscan kitchen and my husband and I had a wonderful experience. Veronica was warm and friendly and happy to answer all of our questions. She had printed up recipes but was very flexible and changed one when she found out it was something I didn't particularly like. Everything was hands on, using the freshest ingredients and she was very good at demonstrating a technique and then having us practice. We made tomato sauce, pepperonata, frittata, foccacia, homemade pasta and a chocolate cake with berry sauce. She had a beautiful table set up for the two of us to eat at when the cooking was done, complete with wine. It was one of the most enjoyable things we did on our trip and I would recommend that yousign up to take a class with Veronica as soon as possible.

“Family fun, exceptional chef and enjoying fruits of our labour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

A perfect family activity that nicely tied all the enjoyable things we experienced in Italy together. Good food, quality ingredients, scenery, wine, and togetherness. We organized the session 3 days in advance and experienced it the day before we left.

Veronica, our chef had the patience of an angel and really geared the session to the four kids ages 6yrs to 11yrs. She put the whole group to work and everyone was pleased with the end results. Our kids courageously ate dishes they were unwilling to try at the restaurants so as parents, we were extra pleased!

The activity might appear pricey. But it is a 4 hour affair, includes your meal, training/education and time with your loved ones. Kids could freely explore the estate which by the way is lovely. We also picked fresh herbs from the garden for the day's recipes.

I highly suggest this activity and would enjoy doing it again when we return.
