“An excellent family run hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

Corso Umberto is "the heart of Taomina" and Hotel del Corso is ideally placed at one end of the Street. Our room was clean and fresh, with air conditioning a small safe and a small balcony overlooking quiet gardens. The staff are all friendly and show care and attention to detail that makes family run hotels such great places to stay. There was also free WIFI, which was really out of range of our room but worked excellently in the lounge on the top floor.
The breakfasts were good simple continental, with fruit, yoghurt, cereal, croissants & jams, plus a cake, rolls salami and cheese. but the best thing about the breakfasts was the wonderful views from the rooftop restaurant of the City, surrounding town, the port and of course Mount Etna.

Room Tip: Our experience was the rooms at the back were quiet (away from the crowds on the Street) with lovely...

I would not rerun for anything! I was sent there from another hotel. The tub was dirty the Internet was awful when it worked. Breakfast was nice on the rooftop and gentleman up there was friendly. When we went to check out they said they couldn't use credit cards because their Internet was down. I was on the Internet with my phone so that was questionable . Then they wouldn't take
American express for the same reason. The manager wanted me to go to the ATM and get cash. After I refused due to the international ATM fees she finally took our credit card. Seems kind shady.

The Hotel del Corso is right inside the "western" gate of Taormina on the main pedestrian avenue of the town. Totally convenient. It is not a "luxury" hotel, but is clean with a very friendly and helpful staff. I think it is a solid value for the money. We had a small room on the back of the hotel. It had a little terrace with two chairs and a table that looked out over a lovely garden with a view of the Mediterranean. Great for resting and reading. The couple we were traveling with had a similar room on the same floor. It is also about a two minute walk from one of the large parking garages. There is no parking at the hotels in the center of town, so being close to the garage worked. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace which has a view that includes the sea and a full view of Mt Etna. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: I would take a room on the back with a sea view. The front rooms are on the street and may be a lit...

We had a lovely two days at this small hotel, very centrally located in Taormina, Sicily. The sea view from our 1st floor balcony was beautiful and the view from the roof terrace is spectaculor. The room was basic, but very comfortable and the management and staff was always courteous and extremely helpful. We will definitely stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with sea view. These rooms are quiet with wonderful view. The rooms on the other si...

We stayed for two nights - 31st December and 1st January. The location is great - on the main street with parking (to pay for) nearby. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was basic but OK. The breakfast was awful - on the first morning the bread was stale and should not have been put out for anyone to eat. The hotel is overpriced.

The rooms are very very simple, and the breakfast is poor. The location is great, just after the Porta Capona, upper entrance to the main street and close to the public parking. The wifi is poor. The main door of the hotel closes at 10pm, and after that is necessary to ring the bell and wait around 5 minutes to get in - which can be very annoing when it's raining or cold.

Room Tip: ask for a room with view.
