“Relax and unwind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We recently stayed for a week at the hotel belvedere which was a fabulous experience, totally relaxing, great food and 'probably the best staff on the planet' Nothing was too much trouble, any time of the day or night, rooms were great with lovely balcony overlooking the pool and sea beyond. Proved to be a great base to explore Taormina and would totally recommend for any travellers wanting some true Sicilian class!

Room Tip: We had a room with a French balcony, good size and lovely view of pool and sea.

We stayed 3 nights at the Belvedere and had a lovely room with balcony and marvellous views. We particularly liked the great friendly service from all staff we came across at the hotel (staff very happy to give advice and make bookings for you). The hotel's pool side bar / restaurant served delicious food, which was great for lunch and reasonably priced (Sicilian buffet recommended). We also enjoyed the playing tennis at the local courts, which can be booked from the hotel. The hotel is quite near the middle of Taormina and so everything is a short walk away. No negatives to mention.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view and balcony

It didn't start well, we had a terrible drive in and were pretty stressed out when we arrived. We then discovered that our room in the annexe was not quite what we were anticipating - the annexe is not on the property but is actually down the street. To be clear, the room itself was excellent just not what we expected.

The hotel stepped in, immediately and without argument sorted us out with a new room in the main hotel with a sea view and from then on it was first class service all the way. This is a hotel that understands the value of high quality unobtrusive service and delivers it pretty much faultlessly. The hotel is clean, well-maintained and very quiet and relaxed. A short walk to the centre of Taormina and, once you have figured out the one way system, accessing the rest of the coast was straightforward.

We loved this hotel and would throughly recommend it.

Room Tip: The annexe is not on the hotel premises, the rooms in the annexe are large and private with fabulous...

Very much enjoyed our stay at the Villa Belvedere. The location is ideal for walking into town. Plenty to do in the immediate vicinity. Excellent customer service. They are happy to make reservations for you, be it for the "lidos" (beaches), or the restaurants. Beautiful views, especially onto Etna, which was very active during our stay. the air conditioning is quiet and effective, the room terrace very relaxing. Very clean. Decent breakfast. Not the lap of luxury though! Great for families too.

We have just returned from a week at this hotel and would go back tomorrow given the opportunity! The surroundings are beautifully picturesque and truly italian. The rooms are nicely furnished and very clean. We had a sea view with a terrace and thoroughly enjoyed sitting overlooking the sea with a cup of tea (facilities provided in room) in the morning or a drink from the bar in the evening. The service of all staff cannot be faulted. They work hard and are passionate and successful at running a truly fantastic hotel. The location is ideal. It's a short walk from the main strip of shops, squares, bars and restaurants and also the cable car or steps down to the beach. It was our first visit to Sicily and choosing this hotel was a large part in making it such a brilliant holiday. Book it now!!!

We stayed at this hotel for seven nights and could not fault it. The room was spacious and although we initially had an issue with our air conditioning, it was immediately rectified. The en suite had a very large shower. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful, right down to the person maintaining the plants around the pool area. Reception staff were able to recommend hotels and excursions. Whilst the bar choices were generally the same every day, they did have a 'special' dish each day, and it was great to be able to eat pool side avoiding the necessity to move far! The views all round are wonderful, with many different terraces and areas on which you could sit. Would highly recommend a stay here. The main shopping area/restaurants are only a short walk away, with the cable cars down to the beach in the opposite direction.

Room Tip: If you want to sit on your own balcony then ask for a room with a sea view.

If you're looking for a hotel in Taormina this is definitely your best bet. The hotel is ideally located just off the main strip, which allows for easy access but also provides you with some respite from the busy streets. The hotel itself is immaculately kept, with stunning views from the pool and many of the rooms. We stayed in room 13, which was like a small villa just off the pool. It was lovely with a private terrace that looked out onto the water. The only suggestion that I would make to the hotel is to perhaps install some walkway lighting as getting back to our room at night was sometimes treacherous as the paths were not lit.

The staff at the hotel was quite exceptional, and was very helpful accommodating our large group of 14 people. The food at both breakfast and lunch was wonderful - probably some of the best and most authentic meals we had in Taormina. We are already looking into booking for next summer!
