“Lovely hotel for non-swimmers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I feel a bit churlish for not giving five stars here as it really is a lovely hotel with a stunning location and great views from the restaurant and from some rooms. Our room was nice but only on the first floor so was a bit noisy and we didn't really use the balcony much. Breakfast was a highlight with a brilliant view and a great buffet (though the earlier you get there, the better the choice). We didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening or have a drink from the bar as you couldn't sit outside.

And that is my only real problem with the hotel. No pool or garden. Yes you can go to the beach club, but you have to wait for the bus which can be late and then travel 20-30 mins to get there. Fine for a day out but impossible for a quick dip or a sit in the shade when you get back from sightseeing.

So if this is not important to you, then I would highly recommend the hotel and would go back when it is cooler. But for a hot summer's day, a closer pool would be better.

This hotel is FANTASTIC! The staff are super-friendly and will go above and beyond to cater to your needs. It's a family-owned and operated hotel and their hospitality (esp Stephania's) is incomparable.
When we arrived, we weren't too happy with the rooms (we booked via Booking.com and we were limited as there wasn't much availability) and they happily moved us for no extra charge.
They went out of their way to arrange tours for us and make use feel as comfortable as possible.
The view of their restaurant (6th floor) is incomparable, and after 5 days I didn't want to leave. I don't usually travel to new places more than once, but I'd definitely come back again!
Taormina is beautiful and Villa Paradiso made it even more beautiful - they're not only friends, they're also family! :)

Spectacular views of coastline and Etna from the balcony; a warm welcome and charming staff; a massive breakfast buffet; an excellent beach club with free transport. Really convenient location in the heart of old Taormina. Wonderful.

Room Tip: Get a view of both beach and also Etna

We visited Hotel Villa Paradiso in June 2014. The family run hotel was just magnificent. The view from our front balcony room, looking over to Mount Etna cannot be described in any way other than "To die for". At the time of our visit Etna was erupting a little which only added to the experience. The hotel was very clean and the staff could not do enough for you. The breakfast was very well presented with a fine selection of cheese, meat, fruit, cereals and jams etc. The only down side was the coffee and the orange juice. But even that wasn't really a problem as I like very strong coffee and I am very hard to please in that area. There is also a private beach club which belongs to the hotel. It is accessed via a mini bus, supplied by the hotel free of charge to guests because it is situated a few kilometres away. However, this was not an issue as it gave you a chance to see the area around Taormina. The hotel it's self is well situated, with easy access to a beautiful park that is well worth a visit. Also, Corso Umberto is only a few minutes walk away up winding streets with bars, restaurants and shop's. Finally, the whole experience of our stay at Hotel Villa Paradiso was just wonderful and we will be returning.

Room Tip: Pick a room with a front balcony over looking Mount Etna and the bay. we were located on the 4th flo...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2014

I have spent 10 lovely days at Hotel Villa Paradiso in July.

Considering the location and the prices for accommodation in Taormina, I would say this was one of the best values for money hotels. It is rated 4 stars, it's a historic building, and it's only disadvantage is the size of the bathroom and the strange manner the room space is used (small long corridors taking from room's space).

If you book, you should consider sea view room, because the view is to die for: bluish Mediterranean waters below and profile of Mount Etna above.

Besides the location, which is excellent: 2 minutes walk to main street, Corso Umberto, and beautiful public park on the side (with spectacular view over the sea and mountain also), what were absolutely outstanding here are the services.

I have never benefited before from such a customized and attentive care as the one provided by the hotel staff and I am an extensive traveler. I needed to set up something special for my husband’s birthday and started the discussion before arriving with Raffaella, a member of the staff. When I arrived, every detail was carefully set up, they managed to find a beautifully decorated heart-shaped birthday cake (which was also delicious), and even found the champagne I wanted (I discovered out later that this involved a 20 km trip to a neighborhood town). The birthday dinner itself was perfect (even the table had some special decorations!), we have felt totally special and spoiled. Moreover, we were upgraded to a room with a huge terrace and a spectacular sea-view, for free, since it was my husband’s birthday. Once again, thank you Raffaella!

The restaurant is located at the top level, and also benefits from the scenic view. Moreover, the food is delicious and the staff, as always very attentive.

The hotel doesn’t have a pool or direct access to the beach, but they organize hourly transport by shuttle to a private beach in Letojanni, which also has a natural sea-water pool. This is even better, since the beaches downhill Taormina are not that great, being pebbly (Mazzaro and Isola Bella), and you can reached them by funivia in about 10 minutes from hotel.

The park which can be accessed from the front of the hotel is also a point of attraction in the tourist circuits as I have spotted quite often tours stopping here for sightseeing – it has one of the best placements for enjoying Taormina’s natural beauty.

Overall it was one of the best holidays ever (Taormina beautiful setting also helped) and the experience was made perfect by the hotel’s wonderful location and incredible staff.

Will return for sure!

Room Tip: sea-view is breath-taking

This hotel is in the upper part of the town of Taormina in easy walking distance to everything you'd want to see. The hotel itself has a glorious view of the harbor and is right next to the lovely town garden, so it is pretty quiet and feels private. The public rooms are inviting and comfortable and the private rooms are all different and charming. The pictures on their website are accurate. The staff is very helpful and breakfast--on the top floor with a beautiful view--very good.

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies are wonderful for sitting out and watching the world go by. The higher floors...

My parents just returned from 2 nights stay at this charming hotel. Prior to their arrival they had informed the hotel that they would arrive at 8 am and although they were fully booked , they were pleasantly surprised when they were informed that their room would be ready in minutes! The room on the 5th floor, with a private terrace over looking the sea and etna view was simply amazing. Nothing was too much for the staff ..starting from Raffaella and her sister, reservations/ check in stage to Angela the house keeper who took great care of our room! The room was immaculately maintained and there was a wide variety at breakfast ! Thanks a lot . Angela and Charles. Will defiantly come back
