“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

Taormina is commercialized but this is not a problem as it is such a delightful place to visit. Hotel Schuler is located just a few steps from the main street via their gardens. Everything is within walking distance and Taormina has some of the best restaurants, if you are willing to choose and pay for the best ones.
We opted for a room with a large terrace that had wonderful views of the sea and Etna. Besides the terrace our room included a separate area with a table and chairs.
Breakfast was excellent and it was a joy to sit in the shade eating breakfast with wonderful scenery.
The hotel is very well presented, charming and recommended.

Room Tip: Double room with bath and balcony recommended.

Villa Schuler is conveniently located near the Corso Umberto of Taormina but it is separated from the confusion by a beautiful garden, ensuring uiet nights and great sleep. On the other side you have a stunning view of the sea side. Rooms are ok, but the real highlight is the FANTASTIC breakfast they offer you on the sunny terrace facing the seaside.
Can highly recommend it!

Great location, nice facilities, and reasonable prices are a recipe for success. Extremely polite and professional staff makes check in/check out a breeze and the complementary gourmet breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea something to write home about. Beautiful gardens and minutes from numerous restaurants, shops, and sites. Outstanding!

My wife and her friend stayed here almost 10 years ago, and our recent visit together only confirmed her recollection that it is a gorgeous hotel in a gorgeous place, and unreasonably priced to boot. We agree with other reviewers that the included breakfast would be exceptional even if it wasn't accompanied by a breathtaking view overlooking the Ionian Sea. Our room (#1) was huge, comfortable, quiet, and well-appointed, although lacking a view. Villa Schuler is an easy uphill walk from the main shopping area in Taormina, but also a quick walk from the very lovely botanical garden. The staff was friendly, helpful, and fluent in English.

It was a pleasure to read that also this new visit to our hotel fulfilled your expectations. Your review was posted on the day before our traditional winter closure for refurbishings and so I would like to inform you that we will reopen on March 9, 2013 with lots of improvements and innovations.

We are all looking forward to welcome you again at our hotel.

A group of twenty stayed at the hotel this November, and were enamored with the service, beautiful gardens, and views from the terrace. All our rooms had a small balcony with table and chairs to relax and enjoy the views.
The staff were very pleaser, efficient, and willing to assist us with recommendations for restaurants for dinner.Staff members are available 24 hours a day.
Free wi-fi in every room for I Pad users.
There is a glass enclosed sunroof on the fourth floor which allows guests to get breathtaking views of Mt.Etna and surrounding area.
Villa has wonderful history of endurance after being confiscated by the German government twice
since it's inception. I highly recommend staying here due to it's location, convenience, and outstanding service.

Hosting small groups as your one is always a pleasure and March and November are the best months to host small groups in our hotel both as far as availability and rates is concerned.

Personalized services and tailor made programs as transfers, excursions with English speaking local drivers, organizing delicious dinners in our partner restaurants, all in order to deliver unique genuine Sicilian experiences in a joyful atmosphere : this is our passion.

Our group of 4 stayed at Villa Schuler in October, 2012, for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts outdoors on the terrace overlooking the sea. Breakfasts, included with your stay, are chosen from the menu (you can get crepes and omelettes) and excellently served at your table. The office staff was very helpful and obviously well trained in assisting with directions, recommendations, and questions and made our stay extremely pleasant. We had a garden view from our rooms but were able to enjoy the sea views and our own wine in the evening on the terrace or from the gazebo. The hotel also has bar service. The location is quiet but is close to the city center.

The location is lovely - just a few steps away from the main street - and the views from the hotel are fabulous. The highlight is having breakfast on the terrace with views of the sea and Mt Etna. There is also a lovely roof terrace - although only four sun-beds - and a small conservatory.
Despite repeated requests we failed to get a room with a sea-view (though this was October and the hotel was by no means full. Instead we were allocated a garden view room. These are quite dark although would be cooler at the height of summer.
The standard rooms are quite basic as well with not even an armchair to sit in. Ours had a single bed as well as a double in it - which I hate given we were on a couples holiday.
And the bed was really uncomfortable - extremely hard and on the first night I got very little sleep.
The service was good - although you have to ask about afternoon tea and cakes on the terrace as it's not something they advertise.
There is no lounge - which on rainy days might be a problem - and no pool again which might be a problem at the height of summer.
But for a short break, especially if you don't have a car, it's location is perfect.
It's not cheap - about 160 euros for a standard garden view room - but I think in future I would plan ahead more - our first choice hotels were booked up - and pay a little extra to stay elsewhere or bag a sea-view room before everyone else.

Room Tip: A sea view or a corner room with views over the sea and etna. The garden rooms are gloomy

Dear guest,

what kind of luxury touches might be needed is obviously something absolutely, really very personal.

There are so many fotos and videos about our hotel, it’s rooms and common areas published on TripAdvisor as well as on our Official Website that I think the Villa Schuler ambience is widely and abundantly represented in transparent details.

But we accept that sometimes somebody tells to be somehow surprised about wrong expetations not fulfilled.

Some statements you made are a matter of personal subective opinion, taste and habits but some others were not quite correct.

BEDS: our orthopedic beds and matresses are by the world leader Simmons.

LOUNGE: we do indeed HAVE a lounge on our Top Floor with an addional terrace offering the most panoramic 360 round-view of Taormina.

ALLOCATED ROOM TYPE: we do have 9 room types all transparenty described in words, pictures and vidoes on our Official Website and I confirm that ALL clients always get exactly their reserved room type, always. Also those booking through online travel agencies get the choosen room-type. So I firmly reject your statements trying to suggest something different.
