I stayed at the Pensione Svizzera for two nights at the end of November 2004. I was traveling with my mother and sister and we were delighted with the choice of this hotel. Yes, the stairs are a bit much - especially when checking in with all of the bags - but honestly, our view was unbelievably beautiful and worth every step I took to get up there.
The breakfast was great. The staff was very friendly and many english-speaking staffmembers helped when we were looking for tips on exploring Etna, and directions to other nearby attractions.
We loved it and would go back in a heartbeat!
