“Central and scenic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2014

We were warmly welcomed to this lovely little hotel by the friendly staff. Our room, on the top floor, overlooked the bay - a stunning vista. It was quiet enough at night to leave the window open to enjoy the sea breeze. The room was comfortable and clean - the lady who cleaned our room was a delight. Breakfast was great and was served in a lovely area overlooking the bay. Drinks were available at the bar in the evening, and sitting in the pretty garden sipping on a G&T was a perfect way to finish a busy day of sightseeing. Ps: the shower cubicle was small but did not pose a problem for us.

The good - Location, the friendly and helpful staff, the breakfast and the price for Taormina.
The rooms - are more functional rather than chic or boutique, but are clean and reasonably comfortable, some with a sea view.
The small garden is a pleasant place to relax in the late afternoon. Above all it was the attitude of the staff that made this a great stay for us. Especially Gavin who would serve us coffee and drinks when we got back at night.
As others have commented the only possible issue is the stairs if you have mobility problems.

We stayed for a week in May and it was very good. The staff are great and very friendly offering advice when asked. The rooms are good, but the two rooms on the top floor are the ones to get as they have small terraces with great views. The hotel is perfectly situated close to the town, bus station and cable car to the beach. Breakfasts were always good and you can take your time sitting under the palm trees if you don,t want to rush off.

The location of the hotel is excellent and the staff very friendly. We particularly enjoyed the gardens which are set back from the street level making them a quiet oasis from the tourist hoards plodding through Taormina each day. Our room on the 4th floor was rather small and the bathroom crazily so, which was the only downside of a lovely stay.

Wonderful hotel in great location. Beautiful breakfast and very attentive and helpful staff. Upper floors have great views but beware the many flights of stairs....lovely courtyard to sit and relax in.

I agree with all the positive reviews on this site. Just returned from a week in Sicily staying here in Taormina and this is a very good 3 star "pensione" i.e. Not a grand hotel. It is conveniently located just outside Taormina centre (5 to 10 minute walk) and is midway between the main bus station and the Funivia that takes you down to Taormina Mare and Isola Bella.
Parking is available nearby for around €12 per night and there are loads of places to eat nearby or further into Taormina town.
Rooms are either economy ( lower floor and hence no sea view) or you can have a higher room with a sea view or small balcony and sea view- same price). Corner rooms are bigger as the middle rooms have to accommodate the ensuite within the footprint of the bedroom area.
One warning - there is no lift so if you are on 4th floor it is a quite a trek up, especially with your luggage on arrival and departure. However, I think they will assist guests with this if you ask.
The outside terrace is lovely and a complimentary tea is served between 5pm and 7pm which is a nice touch. The staff are lovely, very helpful and most speak at least some English. The reception staff especially are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. Free WiFi is available and there is an internet connection in the small lounge downstairs. Double glazing is very effective in reducing any traffic noise as the hotel is situated between the two roads of the one way system in this part of town. There is a 24hour petrol garage about 50m up the road and an AGIP bar/cafe immediately opposite.

Room Tip: Higher floors have best sea views but no lift. Corner rooms are bigger. Room 14 was fine for us but...

Arrived by bus from Catania after flight from UK - hotel easy to find, just up from bus station. Room on first floor, clean and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy walk up to town centre - altogether excellent location. We stayed for 3 nights. Good breakfasts. Tea and biscuits available gratis every afternoon - a nice touch. We left by bus for Syracuse.

Room Tip: No lift, but the upper rooms have a better view. No room is very quiet.
